Karaoke Forums

With all the new peep's comin over here recently... I thought it might be nice for us all to get to know each other a little better! I know we had a few threads similar (Where are you from?)... but thought it would be cool to find out how you came to this site!

This is actually the very first site and forum I ever joined... and man did I ever feel like an outsider! I initially came here by searching the web for karaoke mic's... I found the "Ask Sammy" forum and registered as "Alto"... I think I posted one time and that was it... I got a great answer from someone and got my Shure mic... then came back sometime later and couldn't remember my password... so registered again as "Sheree" .. I sort of lurked around the discussion forum but never dared post anything (maybe one or two posts) cause it just seemed like all the people were all such good friends and I just enjoyed reading their colorful post's... I got hooked on them! Later when I returned... again... I forgot my password.. d'oh! Hey, I was not the internet savvy genius I am now! Soooo.. I re-registered as Sheraokee... which I thought at the time was just a brilliant play on words hehehe.... ...OK ... stop laughing! Anyway.. little by little I started to post comments and the people in the Discussion Forum couldn't have been nicer! I have met some of the greatest people here and always smile when I run across them on the www.. they are like old friends... but then I learned of a singing site where you could actually post songs and I went over... actually followed dumbdrums over there and found it to be a great place... later... SingersShowcase developed and that was very exciting to see... so I posted a few songs here from time to time. Actually... I think I posted a song the first day of the Showcase... anywhooo... this is getting to be a novel .... and some of you are falling asleep hehe! But I sure have met some great people on all the site's I've been on... and hope to continue to...

I landed on this site, quite by accident...it all started with a karaoke pal that wanted to compete in this years KaraokeFest...meanie that she was, she didn't want me to know about it! But Evil Woman that I am...I found the magazine...looked it up on the internet and found the info...
Never did enter the competition...but I found the Showcase...and ohhh lord what a great time I've had...I've made so many great friends in the last few months...I'm just totally addicted to all of you! You guys are my FAMILY!! Love ya all!

Ooh:) I have the most boring way of ending up anywhere... a few friends and I were planning on auditioning in halifax for canadian idol.. while looking for information... I ran across the idol forum.. ON the idol forum, there was a chick posting about submitting her songs on ANOTHER site, and I of course wanted to hear them. The singer turned out to be REALLLLY good, I never did audition for idol... nor did I watch the darn show:). I ended up at the site, WITH the "chick" who IS Ritisroo:) that had originally posted there... I posted, without having a clue what I was doing:)( I still, to this day, do not have a mic)... There, someone told me about THIS site, so I also registered here.. whenever THAT was.... posted one song... and then, being me, forgot the link to the site... and my password. So, While at another site, happily bidding my time... was talking to Tim on msn.. and asked where he had been lately.. he gave me the link to singersshowcase, I slapped my self, then sat guessing until I remembered my password... took sometime:)

Now, here I am irritating everyone.. AND have found a lot of singers I thought had disappeared:) (Ritisroo being one of them, heck many more:) So, glad I stumbled over here:) You seem like a GREAT bunch:) (hey, technically I am not a newbie... but I am. Odd.)

Ah Gilly...I like when you irritate me! And odd...well yes maybe you are a little...but I still luv ya!

Ahem. (hiding from Gilly) I was looking for a good recording setup so I could make a CD for my mom and some friends when I came across karaoke, thought ummmm...maybe I can find me some good tracks and then somehow I got sucked right into karaoke cyberspace and have never been able to escape!!! That might be because I haven't tried very hard! I registered for 3 different forums and became an addict just like the rest of you fine people.

I LOVE it here! You guys are so much fun and I've learned a lot about all the technical stuff and everything and have been made to feel warm & fuzzy welcomed which is a priority for me! And did I mention how much fun you all are? I love being around people who have a delightfully twisted warped sense of humor.

My favorite karaoke buddy (NeverHeardofHer) hipped me to the 'Scene' one Saturday morning. After getting over my fears and nervousness (was it 2 or 3 minutes), we decided we HAD to get in on the action.


I will let Never' tell you how she found the site. As I recall, it was a pure accident (or divine intervention).

I couldn't agree more (and not just to my siblings). What a great group of people!

I am a moderator (one of many) on a large car enthusiasts board. When I decided to start singing karaoke and hosting my own shows I went in search of a similar board - did a google search and ended up here.

I've joined probably 3-4 other boards and havne't seen any that have the traffic this one does (which is still pretty low from what I've seen, but it's more than any of the others). The signal to noise ratio here is pretty high (real posts asking questions/making comments vs. the stupid flame war post/advertising/petty arguements).

So how did I get here? Google search...

Why did I stay? The great group of people here that helped me out when I needed it (Technical forum) and the singers here who kick butt! Besides, there are a bunch of really great people here.

I, too, was on the idol forums all excited about auditioning. Some dude posted a thread about the "other site" so I decided to check it out. They were also talking about Cindy Roy on that site too (she was trying out for idol as well).

I was really excited when I posted my frist song (cause I linked it to the CI Board to try to scare some people , kidding), and then Gilly heard about the site !

I don't quite remember about how I heard of this site. I think some others were talking about it one day (at another site), so I went and checked it out. I posted a couple of songs, but never really came back.

Then I came back later, and there was BHB.....so, I left for awhile again cause I did not want to be involved !.

I came back a couple of months ago and saw how great everyone was and how much fun the forms were and such.

Since then I post when I can, sub when I can, and really enjoy all the company here I like how it is still big, yet small, and you really get to know everyone.

That is my story

I don't remember exactly how I got here! I know I was at another site that linked to this one but don't remember which one it was. Anywho, here I am and lovin' it. Great bunch of people y'all are!

One thing I never thought I'd learn is how to record myself. I learned that with everyone's help here and I so appreciate the time and effort all of you offered in helping me accomplish this. The main one is Allstar who continues to help me to this day. Thanks, guy!

I've seen other sites but none compares to this one.

When I started to make a karaoke site for my area in Baltimore, I was looking for links that may be similar. I came across this site, and learned a lot about shows around the country. It's nice to see so many different viewpoints, good tech advice, and just plain meeting new people. The best part is the Singers Showcase. Where else can you hear so many talented people in one place?

hmmm not quiet sure, last i remember i was put in a time capsual, heading south, and then we had an overload, of flux, int he main capacators, so we ended up heading nns with a good wind direction, but this didnt help the matrix overload, so when we landed, i found this in the google search engine, whilst browsing for a way back home, it didnt help as there was no map on this site, but i stuck it in my favourites, to give me something to get back home for as all hope of returning was pritty grim as we lost the main sector boost fusion in the back engines of the typler x system on our approach, man! now thats a rough ride i can tell ya, anyhow thats another story
meanwhile back on planet earth, i found this site by a friend refering it to me, I first came here some months ago, but i soon left after i got a few e-mails yelling at me to stop posting elvis subs, so i decided to leave instead, but this time, i dont give a hoot what i sub, as im only here to have a good old time,

I've been a member of Karaoke Scene for over a year now, but I hadn't made my way over to the Singing Showcase... as I had no way to record myself.

Recently, with all the terrific submissions thru Audigy and Cool Edit Pro 2, that kinda made me think, "Shoot, I should try this."

I've got a digital workstation, but it's more set up for studio work... I DO use it to record myself though, thru my main system and my dupe system at home!

Anyway, I finally submitted "Dreamweaver" ... Someday when I can afford being a full member, I'll keep that uploaded! But only having five on there at a time gets challenging which I want to keep on!

It came to me in a dream.......SEEK OUT KARAOKE STUFF!... I must have been sleep type/walking at the time! Then all of a sudden... Low and behold.... "SingersShowcase" appeared out of nowhere!!!!! It was calling to me! Sing here!! Sing here!! Then I woke up and submitted a song! It was a dream come true!!!

I had drifted thru this site some time ago when the radio show first started and there were more articles and info... knightshow (my partner) turned me back onto it, even though he knows karaoke forums (for the most part) give me headaches ... I have enjoyed the forums and posts and the singers showcase immensely... I need to post a newbie welcome and rant a little about myself sometime soon so ya all can get to know who I am etc ... -tig who keeps stock in Bayer now...

Back to reality....I was trying to record some songs for my mom too and just happen to run across this site. I started listening to some of the songs and became curious! I finally submitted a song! I've since had the most fun here!! It's just amazing how well this site operates and what a wonderful group of people participate here! I've never participated at any other site. There was no reason too! I have always felt very comfortable here and hope that anyone who comes here feels the same!

Late one night I was bored and looking on the internet for music or singing forums so I could talk with other people about singing, and I came across this here dark-backgrounded forum. I only felt like lurking for a few months...it took me awhile to get everyone and all the forums straight. Then in May I think all of a sudden I just was ready to participate. Then I got all excited about subbing a song and had no idea what was ahead of me. What a lot of work that was learning how to do that, and I still probably have tons ahead of me.

Well, concerning my-self, I need to say how I came here.

Once upon a time, I found another web site sounded good to me to share my passion for song with another people from all over the world.

Just because I wasn't agree with some comments, and with some behaviors, **edit** [the moderators] decided to BANNE me from [the other site]. Without real and a justified reason, cause another member here said exactly the same thing but much better than me, the difference I was for free, not a member as I am here. ( I mean I didn't paid ! )

I think when u are a member u have the right to express u r self, and say if u r agree or not with a comment.

When I saw they began to warn me to (shut up), I didn't really appreciate that, one of the moderator told me to let it go, to take it easy, more simple, to smile and to don't say nothing....

Well they BANNED me, I asked the administor, that I apologized, all I wanted was to share my passion with great people over there, another great member wrote to him, but he never answered to me.....

So, for me wasn't a great web site, wasn't a big deal, cause u pay and u must say yes to everything, in a word, to accept everything.

Well,was fine for me, I gone away.

A friend, over here and over there, ( I won't say the name cause maybe a revenge will be behind ! ), talked to me about this web site : SINGERS SHOW CASE.

Honestly I though was exactly the same as **edit**[the other site], but I tried, and finally saw that this WEB SITE is really great with great people respecting each other, and the result is I AM MEMBER for a very very long time. And I still here...

Well this is my story of my coming here.

I do love this WEB SITE for the respect for the members for free or not, and for our liberty of expression.

I found a site a year ago that i still belong to....then i went looking and found more....then in June a friend from the first board told me about this one.....i came, i looked......i forgot to save the link...my password and EVERYTHING......then when she mentioned it the other day....i was like....WAIT....give me the link!!!....then i went hunting for my password and found it written on a Bar Menu i keep....one, cause i order from there alot....2, cause i do Karaoke there alot....and VOILA.....i am finally here.....again....
