Ok here it goes....againnnnn.......first of all i think everyone on here is great.....met some great friends on here...now keep in mind i don't care about ratings, if high r low....but i do care about comments....BUT most of all i care about learning....i have noticed on my songs that people r saying....WOWWWWW SIGN THIS BOY UP...rrrrr.....THIS COULDN'T GET ANY BETTER....well u get the pic....i have read the comments and u would think i was a superstar from the glowing comments i get.......but i'm getting 9's...now no one can complain about a 9....least of all me....but PLEASEEEEE tell me what u didn't like...thats the only way i can learn....i honestly can't tell who is giving the 9's and who isn't....once again let me make this CLEAR....I DO NOTTTTT CARE ABOUT THE RATING...but I DO CARE ABOUT LEARNING.....as i think we all do....

NOW I DO NOT want this to turn into a RATING/NOT RATING war again....
but please if u think its a 9, 8 , 7....ok better not be a 6.......then please tell me what u thought was wrong with it....

and i also know sometimes u feel a song is a 9 but u just can't put ur finger on why it is.....BEEN THERE....i promise, you won't hurt my feeling....how can a 9 hurt anyones feelings?....

pic urself sending little Johnny/ Wilma......to singing class and he/she comes back saying she hasn't learned a thing....each day u get the same answer....

I'm here to learn as well as enjoy others singing....i think we all r...ok maybe not all, but most....ok maybe not most, but some...lll....Just PLEASE BE HONEST WITH ME.....no one can get upset with a 9, r even an 8....heck a 7 wouldn't bother me if u explain why u thought it was a 7....


Please no comments on RATINGS verses NO RATINGS....I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH BEING RATING NO MATTER WHAT IT IS...just leave a comment explaing why.....IF YOU CAN.....ty so much for listening to my songs...i believe i get almost as many comments as anyone on here....and i'm sorry i don't comment as much as i should....i'll try to change that.....P. S. I REALLY DO TY EVERYONE FOR THERE KIND ( sometimes more then kind) COMMENTS......HUGSSSSSSS to the lady's and GUYS? well ur just guys.......kkkk....TY EVERYONE

I agree... comments are far more valuable than numbers... one of mine got ranked with no comment at all!...

I don't mind rankings, don't much care what I get... but PLEASE leave a comment... tell me what you thought was good... what you thought was bad... I promise, I won't get upset!!.... but like O.W.N, I want to improve myself.... numbers don't help you improve... comments do....

Hey! I'd listen MUCH more but I'm moving 400 miles, working in a new office (same company), trying to get my fiance down here (her job has an undefined end date at this point - but within the next couple weeks), find her a new job (her company doesn't have any opening right now), get moved into a new place, and fight off a cold/hay fever mix.

My heads stopped up so I don't hear so well all the time. I'd hate to tell anyone they sound good/bad/indifferent when I can't hear them too well.

I'm going to try singing and recording tonight because I'm stubborn (or is it just stupid?). You'll just have to ignore my hacking and wheezing in the background though (or maybe I'll cut the mic off when I do).

FYI - Tigger, I loved your sub! The best way to get yours listened to is to listen to others and comment. Some people won't listen to yours unless you listen and comment on theirs as they feel it's a give and take. One of my first subs was listened to a number of times but I got a huge influx of people when I started commenting on their posts.

Just so you know, some people average HUGE numbers of comments (30+) while some average far fewer. I usually get about 10 comments with many more listens (my parents and relatives check me out sometimes!).

and NOT to stir up that can of worms..but its just too obvious that someone is going down the list giving out 9s...mostly..just to make sure some dont get tens..not all of them should be tens..a couple ..yes...very much so...not namin names haha...

id like the scale used a little more..not just nines and tens..BUTTTT i dont wanna see nothin but a ten if you cant tell me why.. and
" i just aint feelin it" is NOT a critique ..grins..

FIRST OF ALL!!! Thank you OK What Now for critiquing me! I've been bracing myself but it didn't hurt.

And second of all, sorry K-Man that I'm acting like a brat dragging around a big bag of hormones....I posted a few months ago that this karaoke process makes people emotional and as much as I don't wanna be one of them, I is. And men aren't exempt with it either, no matter what legend suggests about men being all easygoing and women hysterical. It totally goes vice versa a lot it seems. But that's not my point, my point is sorry I'm griping. I just really love singing and take it way seriously, as my boyfriend gently (!) suggests.

Tigger you are not being a brat!! Ya silly! It's natural to want people to listen to you and comment...sheesh I'm like a kid checking to see if anyone has listened and what did they say, did they like it, etc., etc.!!

I haven't had a chance to listen for a few days and have only been able to listen to a couple today! And boy am I behind! I'll make a point of looking for your song. I remember commenting on your first one and it was fantastic!! (The song - not my comment - well, my comment was pretty good also.... )

Thank you MM...ya know, as many message forums as I've been on, you think I'd know by now. There's this thing with the internet where if people sometimes don't talk a person thinks they don't like them or whatever, but it's rarely that. It's that with the Net we can't see each other; we totally rely on the written word. We can't see that someone listened to a song, loved it and was busy and had to go. The Net is lacking body language and it's easy to misinterpret it.

Sorry about twisting the subject OWN....I listened to your duet with Kathy today and bout had a heart attack it was so good. You got nothing to worry about, and I don't know why you'd get 9's, seriously; but I hope people start telling you what they think. I really wish we could all do that but it's near impossible to tell if someone'll get hurt, no matter how gentle the critique is.

Had to add, actually it IS possible to tell if someone'd be hurt even by a gentle critique - when one brave soul ventures into that scary territory and the others learn from viewing the ensuing blood and guts.

i listen to ya tigger....i think you are great....!!!! keep em coming....numbers are numbers....thats why i dont get rated...rather have the comments without a number to compare it to.....i guess its a jello thing......

Why do you assume that if someone gives you a 9 or an 8 that there was anything about the song they didn't like? I've been around these discussion groups for a while and we have had many heated debates about this subject. One thing I've noticed is that there are different standards that everyone uses to rate another person. Some beleive that a 10 rating is deserved by all just for having the guts to sub and some just give 10's to Keep from hurting anyone's feelings. Others have expressed that a 10 is only deserved if the performance and the mix is flawless (I don't think anyone is worthy of a 10 if you use this standard) Both ways of rating are perfectly justifiable. Maybe the person who is giving less than 10's to everyone is rating based this belief and therefore, has no critique to give because they know the performance and mix is the best the singer can do. If it's something you can't fix then why bring it to your attention (case in point Luly's vibratto) If they gave you a 9 maybe thats the highest rating they ever give anyone and you should be very flattered by that. I've said it before and it has been proved once again that the ratings mean nothing unless we're all using the same standard to rate. I don't think that any system used by each individual is wrong and if everyone stops getting 10's tomorrow It doesn't change a thing about how well or how badly they perfomed. It only matters if you take it seriously.

Some people here deserve a 9 ever so often, but mainly an 8 is the main line. There are so many good singers on this site, it amazes me more and more every day to see the oldies getting so much better and the newbies coming in and leaving there mark!

I am proud to say that I will give a compliment on a great vocal performance, tell you the truth about your sub, being good or bad.

One more time ladies and gentlemen:
10 - Perfect performance
9 - Near perfection
8 - Very Good
7 - Good
6 - Above Average
..................................and so on!

If I comment by saying Very Good Sub!!!! I mean it's a very good sub, and if I say Perfect Performance, then I mean it's a Perfect Performance.

Please do not get your knickers in a knot when you don't get a 10
If you feel you deserve a 10 but cannot handle anything less then it's very simple. Read your comments, but don't allow ranking!

The point that I was commenting on and I believe Kass was pointing out was just that it seemed that someone had made it a point to knock all the 10 subs down....even as far back as a sub that was submitted last March. Seemed very strange to me. That is what I commenting on. I hope it didn't sound like I thought that I deserved only 10's. That was most definitely NOT my intended point.
I personally take each rank as a persons opinion and know that I do not have a style or voice that pleases everyone ( if anyone??) and yes I do tend to wander out off pitch now and then. I know this. I just enjoy the comments I get and I like to know that my songs are listened to. And that is all I really have to say about that.

hmmmmmm, i think we all do rate on a 1 to 10 scale...altho we may see and use that scale different...its still one i to 10... having said that...how can a 9 r an 8 Not have something wrong with it? ......heck you might as well say just because its a 2 doesn't mean they didn't like it.....am i making sense here? ...
PLEASEEEEE understand i'm tickled pink with a 9...honest....but if i gave someone a 4 u wanna bet that they will think something MUST be wrong with it? after this I WON'T BE RATED ANY LONGER, it always ends up this way it seems, and its not worth it...

again this was meant to be only about the comments being left, nothing more.....SORRY I BROUGHT IT UP.....

allstar i'm not upset when i get less then a 10....honest....its not like theres a prize to win here r anything....and i DO NOT feel that i ever deserve a 10 on anything....because nothing i do is perfect....nothing anyone does is perfect here r anywhere else....to me a 10 is not perfect....theres is no perfect....


i guess my problem is that.... Here i am asking anyone/everyone who comments on my songs to say what they truly feel....good r bad.....just no bashing, (and i think thats understandable)...just say what u want to on my subs....if i agree fine if i don't thats fine to...to biggie...some on here don't want to hear whats wrong with there singing/mixing, if there is anything wrong, and thats fine, nothing wrong with that either

most don't know this, but the nic BRO and I have had a few run ins before and not just on this site.....but he commented on one of my songs once and he said (I THINK UR USEING TO MANY HIGHS IN UR MIX, ITS COVERING UP UR VOCALS....i loved that, now i have to admit going back and listening to it, i didn't agree......but its just the fact that he mentioned it...and i'm sure hes listening thru a different setup then i am.....thats all i want is honest....as i think most on here do....

another thing....i don't care if someone is giving me 9s r 8s r 7s on purpose, doesn't mean a thing to me...my average could be a 6 i don't care, IF u leave comments

I'll try to comment on your songs again with my thoughts on the quality......But I have to warn you..... your new pic is making my heart melt and it will be hard to say anything negative to that cute babyface!!! That is the sweetest face I have ever seen!!!....... Please feel free to say what's on your mind about any of my subs!! And that goes for everyone else!! Luv Ya Dona!!
