Hi all - just a fun lil subject here -

If you had the opportunity to sing with ANYONE famous...who would you choose to sing with, and why?

Since I started the topic, I'll go first ...fair is fair right? :)

I'd choose Willie Nelson, and sing "Always on my mind"....it's an all time favorite of mine..it expresses so much emotion, and Willie has just a voice that's all his own :)

If I had to choose a female, I'd choose Reba McIntire...her voice is beautiful and her personality is just a crack up!

Hugs to all -
Tammy Gail

If I had the opportunity to even be on stage with someone, it would probably be either Frederica von Stade, Susan Graham, Anne-Sofie von Otter, or Cecilia Bartoli (in this order) any of which would be so inspirational for a developing mezzo-soprano.

I would love to jam with some of the metal guitar shredders like Page, Rhoads, Mallmsteen . And some of the old blues players like Robert Johnson and Willie Dixonand Muddy Waters.

Louis Armstrong - unavailable - Man what a voice... and so much depth to the meaning of the songs he did...

Any of the rat pack - unavailable - hey, it's the rat pack. Frank, Dean, Sammy.... sheesh... they all are kick butt and any of them would have been incredible to sing with.

Billie Holiday - unavailable - wow... it's Billie....

Screamin' Jay Hawkins - unavailable - this guy was a classically trained OPERA singer. He only did the voodoo thing to 'get back' at the opera people and make money to produce his own opera albums.

since death has such a nasty affect on availability....

Fats Domino (yes, he's still alive and living in New Orleans - still performs occasionally too!) - come now, Blue Monday, Blueberry Hill, this guy can write songs and sing. He reportedly has some new stuff he's thinking of recording that's supposed to be quite good.

B.B. King - the undisputed King of Blues in my book. 'nuf said.

Meatloaf - this man has pipes.... not many people start on Broadway, do an album, tear a vocal chord, and even start with a voice half as strong as this guy has now.

Sting - Awesome voice - great performer. Goes from pop/rock mainstream to contemporary jazz performer.

Ozzy Osbourne - Ozzy? He may be a little crazy but he can still belt 'em out.

There are a lot of people I'd love to sing with... but these are my top 5 that fall in the 'I GOTTA be dreaming' with a much longer unpublished list of 'hey that would be AWESOME!'.

Useless trivia: There was an artist so impressed with Fats Domino he named himself after Fats (sort of). Any idea who it was?

I'll post the answer later.... if you don't find it on the internet. :reddevil:

#1 reason to visit in-laws? Stanley Clark lives across the street. :D
Knock, knock. Pardon me, Mr. Clark, but may I could borrow a cup of funk?

Queensryche! I'd love to be the background vocalist helping them out on the tunes!

Ever since the original lead guitarist (Chris DeGarmo), they've needed help on the "higher" notes... man, I'd love to just be behind curtains and helping them!

Would love to sing a duet with Enya as well!

Robin Trower , and I'd be happy to sing any of the "late Jimmy Dewar" songs that he'd want to play!

OK, it sounds weak, but I would say Pam Tillis, mainly because I already did. :D I got to sing a duet version of "Don't Tell Me What To Do" with her at one of her concerts.

Out of anyone in history, I think being on stage with Janis Joplin would have been an incredible experience. Of course, the memories would probably be kind of fuzzy.

If I could choose one artist to get to know personally, it would be either Sting or Harry Connick Jr. They both strike me as very well-rounded, admirable individuals.

Ronnie Milsap.....
I think he puts more of his soul in his music than any other artist...... before that Ray Charles.

Willie is a great choice tho, he can jam with just about anyone. the only thing I find weird about his music is some of the keys he goes into. He has cords in his songs I didn't even know existed untill i tried a couple.

For me I'd have to say:

The Supremes
Smokey Robinson
Barry White
Stevie Wonder
Roberta Flack
Phoebe Snow
Carol King
Joni Mitchell
James Taylor
The Wilson Sisters
Fleetwood Mac
Jo Dee Messina
Sara Evans

Because:

They are all fantastic & I have, and STILL do, lose myself in their music!!

I could go on allllll day!!! :D
