So let me get this straight...you can call anyone anything you want and insult the crap out of them as long as you say afterward it was satire? I've seen cows expell smaller piles than that (and no, that's not satire).

Lied again, didn't you? I NEVER STATED that 4 venues a day are stopping karaoke because of SC. Don't you realize that your credibility is on the line? Just because SC blew theirs doesn't mean you have to. Steve, whether you believe it or not, I KNOW you are well versed in other areas of karaoke. I KNOW you have a great sense of humor. I LIKE the person you normally are. PLEASE don't ruin yourself through your alignment with SC.

The Cozy Tavern in Teaneck, Abbey Road in Clifton, Zach's Town Pub In Clifton, The Poitin Still in Hackensack, The Oak Ale House in Maywood- to name a few.

Your turn:

Thunder wrote:
New Jersey venues were stopping karaoke at a rate of 4 bars a day when they heard that Sound Choice was going to be going after pirates (must have been a lot of venues there using pirate host).

Name 'em, or admit you lied- again.

Steve, you're not helping either your or SC's cause. Why are you doing this?

Joe do you realize just how easy it was to comfirm what you just stated?

The Cozy Tavern in Teaneck is no longer even listed in the yellow pages, perhaps you were refering to the Cottage Inn which does have karaoke and out of the owners mouth, 201-692-0016, there is no restriction on the brands used at the show that he knows of.

Talked to the manager at Abbey Road in Clifton, (973) 253-0020, Karaoke is tomorrow night starts at nine, he doesn't know if the KJ has Sound Choice products but there is no restriction on it's use.

Is there really any need to continue?

Yes, there is. The Cozy Tavern on Queen Anne Road- different from the Cottage, is in full swing- try again. Abbey Road, who uses a pirate that has been reported to SC, CB, the KIAA, and everyone else to no avail- but won't let them play SC- won't even admit that they HAVE karaoke to out of area callers- so that was BS. Nice try though....

WHAT smiley face? NAME THE 4 BARS A DAY THAT ARE STOPPING KARAOKE?

Put up or shut up.

WHAT smiley face? The Smiley was on YOUR post refuting mine- I never added one. You quoted your own post. Another lie. NAME THE 4 BARS A DAY THAT ARE STOPPING KARAOKE?

Put up or shut up. You said 4 bars a day are stopping karaoke- name 16 NJ bars that have done so. You won't, but will come up with a way to squirm, slither, and distract away from the question. Fun to watch, though....

See, the thing is, not only do I now think of you a an SC thread troll, but because of your now complete lack of credibility ( and I'm truly sorry for that- I KNOW you have a lot to contribute in other areas) you've become something of an SC joke. This is a loss to the karaoke forums in general, and a detriment to yourself. PLEASE review your motivation.

Wow!... you know, I go away for a few hours (maybe working, maybe not -ask kjathena) and Thunder is back up to his old tricks again....

Jian, you have more patience than a monk, priest or human ever dreamed of and I salute you for that. (< not satire, the truth)

And in case you were wondering, Thunder (or Michael Handy or "Mick") has stated on other forums that his formal education is limited to the 8th grade. (<not satire either). However, he has never stated how many times he's been in the 8th grade and one can only wonder. (<satire)

While he does verbally abuse others regularly, you'll find that he's quick to post the definition of a word he's not sure of, only to then, ridicule others with it. (<maybe satire, maybe not)

Making and posting unfounded accusations that he quickly either cannot or refuses to substantiate by using deflection is one of his favorite tactics. (<observation)

Here is a definition that the reader must decide if it is applicable in Thunder's case or if it's simply another case of unrelated "satire.":

Quote:
Cyber-bullying is "the use of information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated, and hostile behavior by an individual or group, that is intended to harm others"
Cyber-bullies may disclose victims' personal data (e.g. real name, address, or workplace/schools) at websites or forums or may pose as the identity of a victim for the purpose of publishing material in their name that defames or ridicules them. Some cyber-bullies may also send threatening and harassing emails and instant messages to the victims, while other post rumors or gossip and instigate others to dislike and gang up on the target.

Considering that Thunder has -currently and in the past- posted rumors, gossip, defamatory information and outright lies, I'd have to surmise that he's downright "chock-full" of what he usually claims after the fact as "satire" usually in an attempt to avoid from being banned. (<satire or observation? maybe one, maybe the other and maybe both)

In any case, you'll notice that when Thunder was warned of his behavior, rather than comply with the request (an adult behavior), his tactic was simply to purposefully retaliate by hurling as many ridiculing and hurtful insults as rapidly as possible marking each as "satire" as though that word is an impenetrable shield of some sort. A childish behavior. (<observation)

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming....

According to their websites, two of the venues you name Joe are still doing karaoke.

http://www.poitin-still.com/

Should I call them to confirm & tell them that you told us that they no longer do karaoke?

Joe didn't say they no longer do karaoke.
He said they no longer want their KJs playing soundchoice tracks.

The point being that venues and bars can survive happily without soundchoice music and without fear of lawsuits.

that is true for a while...but with CB having investigators out and about and preparing more lawsuits...soon it will be no SC and no CB....and we have heard Steller intends to sweep up behind....What will they allow to be played of any quality then ?

I have to disagree. I dropped the brand(s) over a year ago with NO problems.... that's NONE, ZIP, ZILCH. And thanks to the latest filing of SC suits against clubs, not only do my customers (the clubs, not the singers) appreciate our looking after them, I doubt that even Joe C. using the entire SC library of mfg discs at $25/night plus drinks could take my job here... It's simply a brand that has become a hot potato.

There are PLENTY of alternative choices that are of quality that your singers are unaware of.. and they'll appreciate the breath of fresh air.

(that is of course, if the horse is still in the race..)

Have you read any of the posts???? It was THUNDER claiming that 4 venues a day were stopping karaoke in NJ- NOT ME.

The venues named are ALL ACTIVE karaoke venues- that have instructed their hosts not to use SC tracks.

You were mixing and matching.

OOPS- EDIT: The Poitin Still is no longer advertising karaoke in their weekly ads. They may well HAVE discontinued karaoke. I'll have to call them Tuesday.

Not necessarily true. CB has yet to be proven using the same witch hunt tactics as SC- the same tactics that are causing all of the venue problems. If, unlike SC, they act honorably, and also unlike SC, actually investigate and find SOME evidence of piracy BEFORE stirring thing up, I don't see any problems arising from their use.
