It was a matter of time & was told it was going to happen. It has begun. So now all you kj's that pulled SC out of your books can now do the same for CB, I have heard PHM is to start as well!

RE read the article and it does state illegal copies on hard drive. If so good for them. It's hard to compete with a company that buys on copy of a cdg and them burns 10 copies to computers for their "hired" jocs to take to private parties and bars.
I am a little peeved with CB right now though.

The named kjs were using copies (not paid for) of Chartbuster branded (logo infringement) karaoke tracks. I read thru the paperwork and it was pretty clear what their claims were. Take a few minutes and reread it yourself and you might begin to understand their claims.

I couldn't be happier. I hope Norbit really nails these SOB's. Wear a rubber Norb, I hear they're sleazy.

And now all the pirates and their supporters can start saying how nasty Norbert and Debi are for looking out for their (and our) business! OK pirates start pulling those songs off your illegal hard drives because CB is going to be a lot tougher on you than SC ever thought about being.
But we all have to admit that Sound Choice gave warning after warning that they were going to be filing suits against pirates and their venues Charbuster gave fair warning by posting on the various KJ chat sites, Stellar is going to hit without a warning of any kind are you ready for this?

Even if they only go after a few, it should cause most of the other business owners to check that their kj is legit. I still plan to use my CB cdgs, that I converted to mp3gs.....any of you?.....

Does anybody know if they are going to go after kj's that have a 1 to 1 copy of their discs on their hard drive? I have just recently finished putting together a digital system with a new laptop. Should I still be taking my discs to the show with me?
I do support the manufactures efforts to go after the pirates. I have been buying disc for my collection since the early 90's. I remember paying $35.00 apiece for most of the cdg's back then.

All my cdg are now ripped to my drive but I have been thru audits with CB and SC and am 100% legal so I will continue to use my hd. I am even listed on their website as a legal KJ host for my area.

Contact Chart Buster and Sound Choice and request and audit so you will be in the clear. Just remember, once you are audited you should continue to only use the tracks that you own disk for so you maintain 1:1

Yes. However, in order to do so one must agree to audit which I am in the process of setting up with them.

Can't wait to hear all the naysayers talk about pulling their CB content now because they "don't want to put their clients in legal jeopardy by being wrongly accused..."
Anyone going to make a poster we can download to place at the shows stating this like the SC one that floated around last year?

Wall, CB owns SGB so you can get in trouble pirating them. .
Nice to see you're still around.

Danny & Thanks! I wasn't aware that CB held those rights but I think it is great! Let's see who pulls SGB too!

Er, according to the loudkaraoke.com suit, NuTech stuff isn't licensed either.
