Is anyone familiar with the new mp3+g karaoke player machine and what are their opinions of it?

do you have a make and model?

Just callling it the mp3g player doesn't help me in the slightest!

Well to be honest make and model are irelevant my friend but its the mp3+g format players in general as compared to the usual cdg format players in general.Those who have knowledge of the two to compare will know what i mean.Thank you.

Make and model are COMPLETELY relevant. I've seen some that are modeled as "pro" and breakdown in the first three months.. And I know all about the mp3g format. There are only a handful of players that recognize them and not ONE SINGLE ONE that IS commercially available that is worth a damn. They have HIGH error content, and breakage.

CAVS99 is a jukebox player that plays that format. The SuperCDG player works with a variation of that format.

And there are MANY players that recognize the mp3 but not the mp3g.

SO before you get high and mighty... know that I know exactly what you're talking about. When you mention a NEW player, it would be nice to know what the make and model is so that those of us with LOTS of experience in these matters know what the heck you're talking about.

ok for example the player sold which comes with a full years warranty.I,m personally not critical of the player but discussing the +- of them so far the comments have been rather negatively assuming the philosohy of the subject matter.Lets hear more on the subject my friends.

My Cordless Telephone came with a full year's warranty. Come to think of it, my PC came with that as well. Can we discuss those too?

My telephone came with a full year's warranty too, but they wouldn't replace it when I dropped it in the toilet. Since I like to sing in the shower, does anyone know if there's a karaoke player that would be replaced for water damage?

What the hell are you talking about??? You're not critical of WHAT player??? We know what type of player you are referring too, but NOT the name/model.

The only time Knightshow makes a statement, is when he is sure about he's case. He is a respected member of this forum with a lot of experience and know-how. Many of us count on his valuable information.

Stevie - Since you appear to be new here, I'm willing to cut you some slack. Perhaps there's a language barrier preventing us from fully understanding your question or the tone of your responses. We're not normally this way, so maybe an explanation is in order.

I'm speaking for myself here, but I'm sure there are others on this board who feel this way.

There are quite a few people on this board who are extremely knowledgable and experienced when it comes to all things karaoke. They take time out of their day to provide information which many of us don't have the expertise and/or the resources to obtain. We are very appreciative to these people. When you "diss" one of them, either intentionally or unintentionally, we will often respond in a somewhat rude manner. It's the way we are. We like ourselves this way.

Whew, glad I got that off my chest. Now, if I understand correctly, your question is:

Are there advantages/disadvantages to using an MP3+G player vs. a CDG player? Does anyone have opinions of specific MP3+G players that they have tried?

Not trying to rewrite your question, just trying to get the thread off to a better start. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you.

Usually, though, they just remove the http:// bit of it.

Stevie, what's the exact name of the player?

I dont want to start any Crap but just wanted to say I have a few Karaoke players and one is a CAVS202 and I have had no problem at all with it. altho Im kinda shy about spending that much money on one disc without the knowledge of making back ups right now. The one disc that came with it has 388 songs and is it's nice to just plop in one disc for a while. So the CAVS202 seems to be working well for me.

Sooo, I don't KNOW if it's truly a mp3g machine. It doesn't say it is.

I did a yahoo search on "AWF Audio,mp3+g,vcd,dvd,cdg,cd,cd digital player"

And I came upon several sites that sort of have something to do with it. I did find one site that's really kewl, a retailer chat board! It's interesting to read through that chatter from that particular aspect.

The player that they were talking the most about is the Carlsboro player... it incorporates the main technologies from the JVC/RSQ 222 type players, and then adds the other stuff, such as the mp3g, etc.

The thing that most have a hard time with on these players is the continual usage factor... those players that are in place for seven days a week, five hours a night. And that's a fair factor to take into place... you MUST be willing to purchase some more players if you're going to have that type of overhead... in other words, my player has lasted a long time, cause it's only getting used once a week! AND being mobile, it probably will take a beating for a while, but eventually succumb to the ravages of that aspect...

Looks like a solid piece of equipment overall...

Thanks,yes they do play the mp3+g format on cd or dvd but I,ve found a few causes of concern,has anyone else and what were they,in regards of playback of the mp3+g files that is.
