Sorry I've been gone so long, I really missed being here. We had a tragic accident in our family. My son and his girlfriend were living together these past few months. On July 18 they were in a tragic car accident, in which she was killed and my son remains in critical conditiom in a trama unit a hour away.

Not that this has anything to do with karaoke. It's just that I consider some of the long time members friends. It's late I can't sleep and I needed to write. The stess is takin' it's toll.

I did stop to particpate in the Oil City Idol contest, held in a local festival. There were 15 contestants. We road on a float singin' karaoke along the way. Then we particpated in the cotest. There were was a very large crowd, the sound was fantastic, and it was televised on a local station.

There was a $150.00 prize which I really wanted to win. The gas money would've been nice. The cost of travelin' to Ohio to see my son ya know.

I didn't win the money, but the experience was great. I may have not impressed the judges enough, but the crowd went nuts. Wanderin' out through the crowd after the show was worth more to me than the cash.

I love that feelin'. Guess that's why I'm a karaoke addict.

Well he is still in cridical condition, in the truma unit. He has been accepted at a rehab that specializes in brain injuries, but he has an infextion in his lungs and his paulse was 180 this morning. The progress is very slow small steps. Hi KKid, sorry to hear the bad news that affected (and still affects) your family. I hope your son can fully recover soon and I'm sorry about the loss of your son's girlfriend.
