After reviewing my notes from Lone Wolf's various posts on the subject, I followed through and purchased the Chartbuster Essential Super CDG Vol1-6. And as needed, I also purchased the RoxBox software to convert the SCDG tracks to CDG.
It was an investment well worth making.
With everything having worked out so well, I am thinking of purchasing the 1810 DK tracks that are also available on SCDG. Is anyone familiar with the two volumes that are available?

I have them and they get used quite a bit. Overpowering pan flute on some songs but overall a very good purchase for the price.

I posted this on another thread yesterday
I found the following traks were bad on two different sets
Disc I, Track 371, AMERICAN PIE - Don Mclean
Disc II, Track 673, American Pie - Don Mclean
Disc II, Track 449, Freedom 90 - George Michael
Disc II, Track 716, Paradise By The Dashboard Lights - Meatloaf
I suppose if you're ripping them individually, you'll be able to skip over these easy enough. But if your trying to auto load to a CAVS Jukebox, its a tedious task which requires you to go back and renumber the tracks.
These discs also have built in player program which you can run on your computer, but the bad tracks will give you an error and won't play.

jr2423,
Thank you for your extremely helpful information!
Do you or anyone else know where I can get the details of which tracks were on the original DK discs?
I would like to organize the ripped tracks in that fashion, if I can!

Odd that they would put the same LONG song within the same set. I have it on the original CDG DK58 & it's fine. Must be a bad transfer on the SCDG. Same with Freedom originally on DK52 - don't have PBTDBL on DK, can't comment on that one.

Are you asking for a listing of the original 0-99 Set? Or the original Millennium set as compared to the Millennium SCDG?
If you want the latter I can provide you with an Excel file list. If it's the former, I don't have a source. If you aren't already aware, the Millennium set is different from the 0-99 set. While they both contain many of the same selections, they are not identical.

thanks for your input. what you provided is a start. i want the details for every disc so that when i rip and covert the scdg i can set up the output to files that coincide with the original discs.
If I can get the details, the process is very simple.
And with those details, I could reference the original disc#/track# in my song catalog.
Also, in any future forum discussions about the DK product line/tracks I would be in synch with everyone else!

If that's what you're looking for, then BFFL gave you the direction to go. DK may be out of print, but it would still be in that database.

I agree with the sentiment on the RoxBox ripper. The CAVS set is a good investment and the ripper allows you to get a pretty substantial collection for a decent price.
The CAVS set is not exactly like the original as a couple others have said. I have noticed it also contains some tracks that are not even DK tracks. I haven't done a comprehensive analysis on the differences, but I bought it because many of the DK tracks were some of the best for oldies and classic rock. I still sing them myself!

that'll be frustrating I have four dk songs in my show (customburn) two are the ones listed. They be the ones I would need. Freedom 90 to my knowledge is on available on DK, and DK's paradise is the one I give the drunks (cause it's down and key and the parts are clear).

I mentioned DK 58 in one of my previous posts here.... Check this url.... I don't know if DK 2013 is the same full version of the song, or if they condensed it.

Another suggestion is to check with Chip and Julie... Julie was just selling off a DK collection recently, and maybe she has another DK 58 available.
You can also try e-bay

KJers, I need your help again. For the DK Super CDG, what bitrate are the tracks ripped in? Also, what's the difference vs the CDG video-wise if any? Is there the DK manufacture screen in the begginning for the Super CDG? Thanks.

The tracks rip at 128 kb/s. Yes the DK logo is shown.
