Sorry for not welcoming you to the site...

I've been real busy. Please note that a lot of people will read your posts but not all will respond. Especially, in this section of the forums. This is just so others on the site will get to know something about you.

We (admins, mods, & myself) read these on a regular basis. However, it seems that I am the only one who ever responds to any. I guess those other folks are just to lazy!

I'd definitely like to post some songs. Have you posted any yet? How do you record them? I suppose I could check out some tech. discussions, just thought I'd ask you first, since you were kind enough to welcome me.

Thanks Chae! When I get a chance I'll check out your sub's. I'll also see if I can find out more about that CEP. It's be nice if I could hook up some kind of mixer to my to my RSQ-333 player. I have a pretty good sound processor on my computer, it's a YAMAHA DP-U50. It's got a headphone jack but the mic jac's on the back of the computer. I wasn't sure if the CEP is a computer thing or a Karaoke machine thing. If you remember anything else let me know.

Go to kazaa.com . (It's a program you have to download & join) But, you can do a search for Cool Edit Pro, it's a free download from there. There are quite a few on there, just pick one that says it has the registration also. Because the reg. file will have the owners reg. name & number, you can register & do more than 60 second recordings. Then, after completed, you can always remove the KazaA program from your computer if ya want, like I did.
CEP lets you put the music on one track and your voice on a seperate track, so you can add echo and stuff to just your vocals.
You have to have a mic on your computer, and you need headphones too. Ours are just cheapie ones, but they work okay.
Sounds like you may have more sophisticated equipment than this, so if you do, I'm no help there. Maybe ask a guy named "BeachHeadBum", he seems to be a knowledgable techie, & he's real helpful.
In CEP, you can add the wav file directly from your cdrom drive, that's what we do.
But, one thing that took us a while to figure out, and you may be a little more computer advanced, but this stumped us for a while:
In "Volume Control" on your pc, make sure "microphone" is not muted when you go to record, and under "Options", then "properties", make sure "microphone " is selected, not "mixed output". Otherwise, your recording track will combine the voice & vocals, and echo or other stuff will be added to both.
Sounds simple, but hey, I learned this by trial & error. And almost beat my computer in the process.

Gosh Chae, That's alot of info! I really appreciate you taking the time to type that all out. I peck so it would take me forever! Hey I checked out your 2 sub's and 1 of your Moms. Your Mom has such a beautiful voice and your definitely gonna get there too. In fact the quality is already superb. I see that your Mom welcomes people aboard to. That must be where you get kindness that you have for everyone. Keep it up and I'll try to get off my behind and figure out how I'm gonna do this sub stuff.

Sorry to hear about that. The impression I get is that you already have alot of fans. Don't read too much into things, the web guru doesn't seem like a hater or anything. Anyways, I bought Adobe Audition on ebay and am waiting for it to show up. Once I get it I'll probably ask you something dumb about hooking my microphone to the computer and getting the PC to read the CDG. I went to a contest on Tuesday and made it to the semifinals. It's a category contest and I entered in R&B. I just learned that song Tonmay does, "Precious & Few". It was in the song book last night at a club I frequent so I sang it and got a lot of positive comments.
It was more fun than I thought it would be.

I don't hate you and I am not angry with you! I hope I didn't give you that impression. (I may be MAD (i.e. - crazy) , but certainly not with you or any of our members.

The reason that I haven't deleted your comments is for many reasons. One, it would take me some time. You commented so many times which is wonderful. And I am certain everyone enjoys hearing what you have to say. Two, I have been extremely busy working on the new features & modifications and therefore haven't had the time.

I am sorry that the site isn't any fun for you. What can I do to make you time on the site more enjoyable? I am trying to make this site enjoyale for everyone. that is a very difficult thing to do because as we know "You Can't Please Everyone All the Time!" - but I am tryin'

Oh, I am glad ya don't hate me then! And forget about the comments, I have decided to come on and make little comments here and there, but I don't want to sub songs anymore. And it is not cause there is something else I want here, just with everyone argueing about what there is/isn't here and then the whole "ranking fairly" thing, it is no fun anymore. I think that probably most people some on here just to build their confidence, and it does, usually. I came on here, not thinking "oh I am a great singer everyone is going to love me and give me staight tens". My mom was always urging me to sing more and to not be so shy, cause I wouldn't sing in front of anyone, and when I did I would drown my voice out with the music. So when I came on here, I was thinking, "hey, whether I am a good singer or not, at least maybe I can gain some confidence in myself so that I can have fun when I am singing, just be able to have a good time and not care what others are thinking about me". So I submitted a few songs and and people gave me really nice comments, so I guess that did help me to gain a little confidence in myself, and I even entered a karaoke contest cause my mom wanted me to and I got third place. And all my friends and family thought it was cool cause they never had really heard me sing, but I was just having fun, so nothing else mattered but having fun. And I was proud of myself for being able to sing and not be so nervous anymore. I mean I was still nervous, but I wasn't stuck on myself. But, now, with everyone blowing it up into this big of a deal, about "honest ranking" and with all the changes, it isn't fun, we have just made it in to a competative thing and everyone is against everyone else. That isn't fun to me. I like to sing with friends and just have a good time, joke around, not compete. I mean, if it is a contest you actually enter, then yeah that can be fun too, but on here everything has turned into a "contest". So I am simply sticking to commenting others, or at least for the moment. I may sub songs later, I may not. I don't know.

But anyway, you get the point. I know you are already busy enough so I will end this mini-novel here, geez I am turning into my mom.... ~lol~

Thanks a lot, and I know that you are just trying to satisfy as many people's "wants" as you can, and you are doing a great job, I just don't wanna be in the whole competing thing. All you hear is "gimmi gimmi gimmi", but I would like to thank you, for giving me the chance to gain a little confidence in myself, and having fun for a little while. Even if I'm not that great of a singer, I still enjoy singing, and you have made that more fun for me. So, thank you.

I could:

1) Ground ya from the internet until you sub a song
(problem is , you're ALREADY grounded from that cause of your
messy room)

2) Ground ya from the phone until you do
(that would probably do the trick right there, )

3) Make ya do dishes every night until you do
(hey, NOT a bad idea....hmmmmm....)

I know you'll do another song when you're ready. I'm not pushy about it, so be nice to Mr. OK What Now- he just paid you a nice compliment.

OKAY...... first of all, MOTHER, I already am grounded from the phone and internet ... (yet I am using both right now anyway, ....)
