					| On occasion I get to see other shows in my area, and I've noticed that almost all of the KJ's in my area sit down behind a table or a desk when running a show. I normally stand up behind my rig for the whole 4 hours. I got to wondering, do most operators sit down behind a table, or do you stand up to run your show? _________________

					| I stand up.
Until the beer takes effect.
Then I fall over on the floor.
 No problem...
I click the mouse button a few times (as they expect me to)
and get paid at the end of it.

					| Because I have a bad knee and two broken (as of yet unhealed) feet, I alternate between the two.
The knee doesn't like me to stay sitting and the feet don't like me to stay standing!

					| I'm a stander. 5 to 6 hour show. I'm not much of a sitter. I've got the music in me and ants in my pants. On occasion if I'm having knee problems I'll sit briefly here and there. I have a small stool for singers to use if they'd like to sit while singing. Seldom do they ever use it, so I'll just grab it for a minute or two._________________ [shadow=pink][glow=deepskyblue]. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

					| Skid Rowe. See what you have done...
You have turned a semi peaceful karaoke forum into Apocalypse Now.

					| I see mostly standers. The KJ's are to busy like taking slips, stepping out to hear if the sound is right for that singer. I'd think it gets tiring getting up and down all the time and it's easier to stand.

					| Like I said, most of the KJ's around here, sit while doing their shows. One guy, who runs a multi computer operation, (wink wink), has an operator who sits behind the table and sings. Too tired to get off his butt I guess. I hate to see the host sitting down all night. It's like they're too bored to stand up and put any energy into the show. _________________

					| Stand for the entire show...spend a lot of time running between tables in the audience, etc. I'm not a sitter, either. Tried it a few times.

					| Stand...always stand! I have a "podium" of sorts for my mixer. Since I'm actively mixing effects, vocal and music levels throughout the song, taking slips, talking to patrons, getting fill music and upcoming karaoke songs pulled it's easier for me to be able to move around the stage.
In Seattle I've seen both sitters and standers. Seems like the standers have a better energy level throughout the show.

					| It depends on the length of the show. I have stood through a two hour gig but alternated between the two at a longer gig. _________________

					| If only I could stay standing! That is my instinct as I tend to want to "bop" with the music, and I end up on my feet far more than I should do and then end up paying dearly for it the next day.
I really have to force myself to sit more, even though my knee quickly tires of it.
 Dan is right.
I find standing KJ's tend to be more high energy than the ones who sit the whole time.

					| Not a KJ, but I do DJ car shows and the shows can last eight hours. I have a stool which is half way between standing and sitting. My situation is different and i guess if I was KJing (I've filled in for a friend) I would be standing. It's much more work and more things go on at karaoke to sit. I did have a show some years back at a country bar using the house karaoke system. My friend did shows there as well, but used his own equipment which was much better. The owner knew this and even billed the house set up as the "Krappiest Karaoke Nite". It was a Thursday night show and I ran it for a year. It was just casual fun with no divas and no stress. I had forgotten all about my small venture as a host. Darn it all. Those cheesy midi discs were just awful. Japanese Kanji characters with out of sync English words.

					| Stand, walk, dance (in a really lousy Taylor Hicksish way, but I'm movin') go out and listen to the sound, whatever. I used to sit behind the console, but I learned to do it differently after seeing how much energy it put into the show when I went to see this gal KJ's show.

					| Stand, sit, walk, dance and sometime run.
I like to stand on the job, but I need the sit to rest my back and legs. High stool with back rest is the best; you look like you are standing up but actually are seated.
I walk the room to check the mix and may dance (badly) along the way.
And when my timing is off, I just run back to station before the music stop. _________________
