Hi there my fellow karaokers. Im using a software cdg player from karaoke builder. Im trying to play some cdg files(not on cd) and I just get visuals on the player with no sound. Ive turned all the system volume controls up and checked that none are muted. which volume controls the player anyway? I know the cdg files work on my other computer with the same player. I have no idea whats wrong. I can play the mp3 files using windows media player just fine. so its not a matter of sound card issue. all the system sounds are good. I installed the visual basic runtime as well. thanks in advance and happy singing.

Is this system running Windows 98? Try deleting the file kb.ini and re-open the player. If the problem still persists, double click the mp3 file and windows media player should open. Close media player and then click on the cdg file. Your KB player should now play both the audio and display the graphics. If I had to guess, there is some conflict between media player and KB player.

Hope that helps some.

Thanks for you help!no, the system is running windows xp pro as well. should I uninstall wmplayer? I wonder why it doesnt conflict on the other computer? I deleted the kb ini anyway and opened the mp3 with wmplayer and closed it with no luck. Im trying to see what exactly is different with the 2 computers. Is there any conflicts with karaoke player and soundblaster live value! I have the latest drivers. For some reason the player wont play both visual and mp3 at the same time.

I never did fix it but instead tried another player. Wincdgpro2 plays flawlessly. Very strange though why karaoke builder player did not work in this computer.
