My family and friends all love Karaoke so I have collected almost 200 CDG's. I need a proper CDG organizer as it is difficult for me to locate songs quickly and return them where they belong just as quickly.
Can someone tell me what type of organizer you use and where I can purchase one?

Use nothing but jewel cases with custom labels. Best protection for the discs & can find anything in the blink of an eye. Downside is the bulk.

Stay away from these soft floppy mass production cases. The only guarantee you get with them is a "scratch guarantee"

Get yourself a nice flight case for CD's, and carry that around with your jewel cases inside. After a while you get to know which CD is where, or number them and have an index (by song and by artist) in the same case. Just like a karaoke book

I'm not going to be removing the CDG's from my home. I noticed in my research over the internet that there is a CDG organizer available that allows you to put your disc's into spaces that are lined with felt. They have a flip top that opens out for easy access. I think they had one that held 100 discs and one that held 200. They weren't inexpensive however.
Do you not recommend putting the CDG's in these felt lined organizers?

You have to remember that everytime you slide the CDG in or out the cosy felt lined pocket, you will inevitably scratch the CDG due to dust everywhere in the world.

Look closely at a jewel case and you will find that none of the CDG's working surface actually touches ANY other surface. That's scratch protection.

Invest now or cry later.....

If you are not going to move them from your home, here is a thought. Purchase one of those CD mega changers that hold hundreds of discs. You will also need to add a cd+g decoder (Leader or Vocopro brand) in order to view the video. However, in this scenario you do not have to handle the discs and risk damage. I know Sony makes a them and I'm sure other manufacturers do also.

I have used one of the flip type orgainzers for years. Never had a scratch.
Prosing carries em, and to me they are handy and don't touch anything. But I am sure some have had problems with them... I just never have.

I prefer to use Univenture sleeves, both the Viewpak XGs (flip with pocket) and Archival Pockets (no flip). Very durable. I came across them through a DJ company I started with years ago. I subscribe to a series from ERG which also comes in the XGs as well.

Have seen others use Case Logic and other retail brands that often do deteriorate and tear, which I presume could damage a disc. With the sleeves, you can increase your capacity 2-3 times over conventional jewel cases. On the downside, the weight increases noticably as well. They also make a double XG for two disc compilations.
