I want to be able to make karaoke disks on my computer to use in my karaoke player. I have one of those little American Idol players. I want to be able to have the music, lyrics and video, how do I do this?

it's nice to want to do things, ain't it??? :)

there are places to buy music. having a karaoke player doesn't entitle you to rip off the industry.

the only way you WOULDN'T rip off the karaoke industry is if you did homemade karaoke rips of your OWN music... not someone elses.

I'm sure if you browse the web you will find the answer to your questions. I know someone that uses a program to add timed graphics to her music files. However, she's been signing "karaoke" for many years and has all kind backing music that she purchased before we had CD+G and lasers. Back then you got the music with printed lyrics.

There are also sites (such as CAVS) where you can pay for legal downloads of karaoke music. However, you will need to investigate what other programs and hardware you will need in order to burn those downloads onto a disc for playback in your cd+G player.

As you may have deduced, many of the members of this forum are professional KJs. Surely, you understand how expensive karaoke discs are. Piracy becomes a touchy subject when you have invested thousands in original media and along comes some guy that has pirated discs out of his ears and starts to set up shop in your area. It clearly is an unfair and illegal advantage.
