cavs is NOT MP3, but their own proprietary format.
And I don't own but a couple of the DK discs, or the sc8148 or 8125. I just have copies of them. For personal use. I never use them in a show.

Well, Knightshow, I guess you finally fell off your high horse (thank god).
You always preach about pirates...but YOU have a copy of 8125.and dont own the original????? Thats piracy, it doesnt matter if you use it in a show or not. its still against the law. you called traders "the lowest scum on earth" What did you give for those dk and sc copys? whether it was cash, a favor, or whatever., it was a trade , "lowest scum on earth" you said......if the shoe fits......

Look pal, my old partner had it. The original. I used the copy in our old show. When I broke with him, I took it out of my book, but I still have the copy.
Sue me! I use it for research when I buy or want to buy new discs. The new Zoom is very good, and compares in many ways. I also am a member of another website's review board, and often draw my comparisons to the out of print stuff. Hence my copies of the DK.
It's only prosecutable if you're using it for financial gain (i.e. in a show), otherwise it falls under the fair use laws.
What a jerk!

sorry, Actually I was testing the waters. Alot of forums will delete posts that are not in the favor of the admin's opinion. I was contemplating posting here reguarly, However, for me to do that I wanted to make sure all opinion's were heard and not deleted if they went against the op's.
So I apologize. but i need ed a test. Also, fair use does not yet apply to cdg discs, as there are 2 additional copyrights involved. However it is a matter of time until the courts rule in favor of applying fair use to cdg discs.

the admins here have allowed both sides. The only time they'll really make a stance is when complaints are emailed to them, or there are obviously inappropriate behavior.
Criticism I can handle. I just come back swinging is all.
For the record, I STILL think those that download / copy/ trade but down own the original cdg and then use them in their shows, are the lowest of the low.
If you check out the radio program "That's Karaoke" (linked on the left side banner), you'll see that the powers that be have had Priddis and Sound Choice personel on here that have each given their opinion on the matter of copying cdgs.
and many of them do mention the fair use laws. It's all so open to interpretation that the only time the courts get involved is with the multi-riggers and people who are selling their stuff.
