Ok well I just have a few things I want to point out.

This is not a competition nor is it anywhere close to being professional.

I in particular have been watching this board for awhile to see what it's like and I can tell you there are some people that I do not want to give me their "opinions" of my singing. I have yet to rank anybody due to the fact that the rankings are bogus. People don't want to hurt feelings so they rank mediocre and some poor singers highly. (Not saying that there aren't some fantastic songs on here because there are.) Then if anyone gives a singer a low rating they are viewed as villians for unfairly rating someone.

I will also say this if and when I do submit a song on here to be rated, if a particular user on here (that I have been folowing the actions of on this board for about a month now) berates me I will have a comment for them in return. When someone is an OBVIOUS bad singer I do not want to know what their opinion is of my singing. It's pointless and I will let them know that.

Non-singers are more than qualified to judge ... the reason I made the suggestion for people to have 2 songs on the board is because, as we are seeing, it's too easy for someone to create a bogus name and revenge rate you on the same day ... or ... some people are just out to get you for whatever reason! The two submission rule is just a precaution to weed out people with ulterior motives ... we all know they are out there! We can't prevent it really ... but at least we can make it more difficult for them. I welcome anybody to say whatever they want .... it's part of the deal ... as a member of another site I can say I've seen it all, and my suggestions here are just a reflection of the experiences I've had ... also... ever since the "other" site got rid of the "top singers list" and "top songs list" .... people have been getting along GREAT! It just goes to show ya ... competition can bring out the ugliness in some people! (Not all!) Rating over there is optional too ... so I have chosen the option NOT to be rated ... since I think it's just another stimulant to animosity! My whole purpose for singing is for enjoyment ... I don't wish to compete with anybody! I would chose that option here as well, but then I would miss all the great comments ... and that does help me to know what songs are well recieved and which are not!

Jodie are ya trying to tell us if the Admin would allow singers to show thier assets in thier photos it may help them get ratings too?

Come on it's just for fun.. the ratings don't mean squat.. lighten up.

If there was money in it, or a trip to showcase in Karaokefest I would put up much better songs. or have vocal tuned the last 2 submissions.

I didn't though. I do know how to compete.. but I also sing for fun.

The reason I submitted was to be a part of the group, not to get ripped by malice seeking wannabe's.

You are soo off base with that comment.

I was referring to people being "friends" on here not physical attraction. I made no reference to pictures what so ever. That is just insulting.

I realize karaoke is for fun.

90% of scoring in any competition level is subjective in any way possible either accidentily or by intentional means and most don't try to fix it.

I'm almost sure the KS Admin will address and i'm most positive and they will attempt to fix it. It's best to address those issues by PM to them.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. This isn't American Idol. We are all here for fun, aren't we? And, I stated in another forum, with something this public, you can't please everyone. Bad and invalid ratings are, and always will be, a fact of life. Deal with it, move on. Those bad comments can be erased in 5 days. If you can't take a bad review, then don't put up your songs for voting/commenting. Simple as that.

Since the 'other site' was mentioned, the judging over there caused problems because their 'judges' didn't have a set protocol for judging songs. They just 'winged' it, allowing them to base their scores on just personal opinion, instead of set attributes. That's why public scores shouldn't be taken to heart at all. Ya, it's nice to get a 10...but what does it really mean? The same as a 1 or 2. SQUAT! I recently submitted a song that got lambasted with criticial reviews. After 5 days, the song was history, the scores were history and so were the comments. Time to move on.

If you allow yourself to be caught up in the ratings & comments, good or bad, you only end up hurting yourself. It's only an ego booster for most. Don't rely on them. There are always gonna be bad apples, no matter what you do, whether you ban people from commenting unless they upload first or not. Just...

NOTE: You may now submit a comment on a song without ranking it.

Also, when you submit a song you can choose whether or not to have it ranked. Of course, with out the ranking you get no comments either...

Who is this crybaby person, I couldnt find any song they submitted so why are they going around making rude comments on people's songs? I think it is rude and meaningless.. Personally I got trashed by her, I aint looking to make a record deal, just trying to have some fun.. Positive criticism is welcome, but why the low blows?.. I noticed on several other people's songs she made very rude comments also.. No one is gonna pay for a membership to get trashed by someone...

Exactly why I mentioned earlier about being able to ban particular users from commenting or rating your songs. I know who you are referring to (or at least I think I do) and she IS rude big time! I'd ban her in a heartbeat.
