Here is one to consider, right about the price range & 700 watts, but it's a good quality. About the closest to what you want in that price range.

How 'bout this?
That's a good one as well, the new EON line is pretty good. A little more than you had planned though?

I blew up one of the new EON's in about 5 minutes. They are junk.
I hate Carvin but the new guy that works for me runs a complete carvin system and it sounds good and has never let him down.
My Top picks are:
Yorkville LS800P
QSC HPR181i
RCF 4PRO8002-AS - 18"
All much more than you intend to spend. I say save your money and buy something that won't let you down.

Technical Pro are the speakers that we bought as a set due to a misunderstanding between my hosts and me, the money person. I believe I told Lonman in another forum that the only way I could bear being in the same room with them was if we stuffed socks in the horns--very ear piercing--although the boyfriend can make them sound a bit better with the Yamaha amp and mixer we later bought--we don't use them--was just an experiment. One still rattles, however. We have Yamaha clubs now. But the Blue lights comment cracks me up (I can laugh about it now, even though I am still paying for them?). We make use of the Technical Pro amp to power our monitor and we have to put something in front of it because the blue lights blind the bar tendress and she keeps asking us if we are trying to land airplanes or something. Run. Run quickly. I make a fool of myself here by admitting we have them only to save someone else from losing out also. And P.S.--the Vocopro CDG player that came with them has never worked either--have sent it back 4 times and then gave up--we repaired our old Pioneer and bought a used JVC on EBay and the Pioneer is the best of the lot.

VocoPro seems to have alot of problems with reliability? My owner bought a Vocopro karaoke mixer set up... I like it except for the EQ is very basic. One of the microphone channels has gone out (it's about 3 months old) and one player had to be replaced right out of the box. It makes me nervous that some night I'm going to be out of luck altogesther with the players and mic channels.
We are using two Crown amps, one runs the mains and monitor and the other runs the subs. (Madison subs, I like very much. The aren't powered so using crossover).
I got tired of replacing cdg players from ebay...that's why I'm working on going all computer.

The problems with the Vocopro you described are the same as ours and the same you will find mentioned over and over again in forums. One or the other of the trays always quits working. We never put it into show use--this all happened while trying it out at home-- and I believe 8 songs was the record for the longest it would function before having to be sent back. I think it originally arrived with one mic channel out, also.
Our Ebay player has worked fine so far. We did a lot of back and forth with the seller before deciding to take a chance. It is just when people bring in an ancient, beloved, scratched up disc that skips in the newer player, the old Pioneer saves the day.

Yes, the Eon was a bit more than I wanted to spend. I found the b52 are $800 again but this time with free shipping. One thing I don't like about it is the weight, 115 lbs!

The LS1801s look good to me. Enough power for my 215s?

May not be many reviews, but I know I love their amps. When I was playing in a band our entire PA was all Carvin. From the speakers to the mixer (which is what got me turned on to them), very nice sounding equipment, and for the price can't be beat. You may not find user reviews like you do through the online stores as they do not sell through the stores, only from the source.

So $550, instant rebate, does that mean it's $550 after or before rebate? "instant". Does that mean what I would think it means? Taken right off the top, no waiting, mailing receipts barcodes bla bla bla?
If the shipping is over $75 bucks, would this be a better deal than the B-52 at $800 with free shipping?

Instant rebate means no sending in for anything. If you put it in the cart, the $549 is what you pay.

I was talking with an associate of mine at my gig tonight and we started talking about subs somewhere along the line. He was saying a sub needs a certain distance to allow the sound to form properly and position in the room might be an issue for our location.
If you had a square room, stage in the corner, mains just in front of the stage roughly like this:
Code: 30' -------------------------- | / x | X = Speaker | / | | / | 25' | /x | | | | | -------------------------- 30'
Where would a sub be best positioned? The lower left corner of the stage just behind that speaker is where I setup and I thought facing the crowd under that speaker would be a good place for it. Nearly all the subs have a pole socket just for that purpose right?

Sub frequencies are non directional - not like the mids & hihgs where you need to point them more toward the audience for the full effect, you could put it almost anywhere & it would be fine. Typically put it under one of the mains.

ALSO... There is not a more important time than now to try to buy products Made in the U.S.A. CARVIN is Made in the U.S.A. by Americans in sunny California. How RARE is that nowadays! I also have a Power Amp made by them that never gets hot, and I never saw the clip light come on and the price was more than reasonable in a watt per channel comparison.
