Looks like a new pro player floating around. The API 701 DVD. This one plays all the good formats. IS rack mountable. Has anyone heard of the brand or seen it in action??? The only API I know of make high end mixers for studios/concert touring. I know they wouldn't jump into the karaoke market.

Lonman,

Where did you see this player?
I hate the fact that the rack adaptor for my JVC takes up so many rack spaces.
I can remember seeing only one player that had a rackmount faceplate and I don't rember what site it was on or who made it.
Right now I have only one rack space available, which limits my ability to add more equipment, (not that I really need to), without buying another rack.

Kojac the rackmountable one is made by 'gasp' Vocopro! I've seen it at prosing.com I considered getting one but it does not have a true digital key control on it which I can't believe they omitted. You can reduce or speed up the tempo but that is NOT key control, the tech I spoke with was clear about this. They make two models- one is a single tray and one is a dual deck both rackmountable. The single tray is the cdg 4000 and the dual deck is cdg 8000. The 8000 has a seperate controller which is also rackmountable. Looks a lot like the Denon CD player line if you are familiar with those.

I've not seen the one Lonman is talking about

I've been using that exact player. I purchased the JVC 3 tray, then sold it on eBay after finding the API. I absolutely love it! It comes with a rack-mount kit.

Of course, now I'm thinking about re-purchasing the JVC for a backup and to have the convenience of the 3-tray for quick changes. Sheesh! Or perhaps I'll just get another API.

It truly does play all formats including DVDs. It's a pro-player as far as I'm concerned.
