Hey Everyone ~

I have received your emails and I believe I have responded.

I know about the problems and we are attempting to fix them. I have my database developer working on these issues.

Here is a list of the problems that I know of:

#1 - MEMBER - submits a song but the name is not displayed.

#2 - MEMBER names not displaying. I have to manually insert the name.

----------------------------------
#3 - The biggest problem is the one with submissions being overwritten.
When someone submits a new song for some reason it causes the next submission to overwrite the previous entries.

#4 - Members should be able to modify (edit) their submissions. Sometimes they incorrectly spell something or wish to change the information.

#5 - Members should be able to modify the rank that they had given. On many occasions they incorrectly enter a 5 (the default) and have asked me to go in and change this for them.

I think that about covers it. If anyone can think of or know any additional please let me know.

Phill, thanks a bunch for looking into these issues. Looking forward to all of your enhancements to the product. What a wonderful concept that you came up with. Keep up the great work!

Actually I didn't single handedly come up with this. The staff and Owners of Karaoke Scene had a great deal to do with the creation of this feature. We have been in discussions about creating this basically ever since I took over as WebMaster back in 2001. Although, some had the idea way prior to that...

We had researched many current software programs that are predeveloped that we could use, but we found that not only were they cost preventative - they just didn't do what we wanted. Therefore, we toyed with several different database developments.

I had originally contracted two other companies to develope this and they failed miserablly. Finally, I found a company that could create what we had imagined. I have been working with them for over a year to create this. Of course we are still finding these glitches and are trying to get them fixed.

Keep your fingers crossed - I hope my database guys can figure it out soon!

The repairs and modifications:

=> CORRECTED. However if the member doesn't enter this it will default to a blank line. the Member can then go back and edit that submission.

=> CORRECTED. Update your profile if this occurs that should fix.

Additional features:

1. A member has to have submitted a song prior to being able to rank or comment.
=> Done.

2. Create a cookie, so a member can remain logged in?
=> Done.

3. Allow members to leave a comment only without a rank?
=> Done. Now members can comment without ranking a song and ranking is configured accordingly so comment only entry do not participate in ranking.

I submitted a song it wont play... I need to delete it and re upload it... I named it song wont play... ty
