I guess the disc (manufacturer) could contribute to problems. But who knows what the manufacturer is, even after you buy the disc?
I also wonder about the following. I just purchased a 12 disc set and had problems, particularly, with two discs while all of the others ripped pretty clean. One track out of one hundred and eighty gave me a real problem ripping, the screen was black throughout, regardless of the drive or software I used. Finally, I used that DVD I referenced above and it worked perfectly.

The best program out there is $40.00, and it also does bin -> mp3 and mp3->bin conversion and burning. It works with all drives.
To me it just doesn't make sense to waste your time with those free programs. And from all the posts I have seen here, you *will* waste time.

Yes you have -- here trying to help people deal with Audiograbber.
It doesn't do a good job with the vast majority of modern drives, and the drives it does work with are becoming less and less available every day. It is a dying program, and lots of people have wasted lots of time trying to use it before breaking down and buying something better. I have watched that here.

Sometimes, these days, computers can become frustrating and time-consuming.
I just got high-speed internet at home through my cable company; it's not available from the phone company. I was excited by the prospect of the convenience of not relying on going to my business just to get on-line. Meanwhile, my Limewire doesn't connect, though it connected when I had dial-up (of course downloadingt took forever), though I rarely used it!
When I used MP3Toolz for the first time, it got hung up on the routine that checks the internet and wouldn't work. The latter problem, it ends up, resulted because I lost my connection to the internet, for a period, due to a faulty connection.
It seemed like it took forever to figure out what wasn't working and to get most things back to "normal." So, I many times feel like hurling my computer!
Meanwhile, as infrequently it is that I rip tracks, I'll live with the occasional frustration. If it's not one thing it's another.

I still use it on occasion, if I need to rip something at 1x, the demo is free

Meanwhile, as infrequently it is that I rip tracks, I'll live with the occasional frustration. If it's not one thing it's another. That's wh;y I NEVER went with any of the .net programs... Microsoft insists that you be connected to the net for some programs to work, and that's total malarky. *since I can't really curse on here, that's the best one I can think of right now! !*
as for wasting my time with Audiograbber, to me, Micky, if you have the CORRECT hardware, stuff made directly for karaoke ripping, not trying to fool it or reprogram hardware/software bios, then that's a GOOD deal.
Perhaps I'm too much old school, but again, to me, using the products for what they were ORIGINALLY intended for makes sense, rather than dealing with buggie issues when trying to MAKE it do something else that a very clever programmer has come up with.
If anybody's wasting time, it's you guys that tell folks to get these other programs that won't work under certain circumstances, or you have to have the right updated thingamajiggies, and the doo-hickies that hook up Via USB so certain hoster style programs work...
I mean, keep it F*n SIMPLE.
CDRWin supports certain players that originally see the karaoke subcode.
Audiograbber has YET to have failed me on ANY copying I do (other than the disc was scratched).
If that's failure, then sign me up with a capital F.

Hmmm, I guess you meant the other Mcky57??? Cause I'm with you, I don't have a problem with Audiograbber and I sure don't think it's a waste of time trying to make it work I just wish the creator would have continue working on his software, the concept is amazing but it's not ageing so well... Same comment could apply to Karawin, BTW
Lonman, I forgot about the 1x on the demo, you're right, but you sure need to be patient

If not, PM me and we'll make arrangements for me to send it out.
and yes Micky, I meant Mcky57. My apologies!

Winamp doesn't do that by itself. You need the MP3+G plugin to do the karaoke part. Just search at winamp.com for mp3+g and/or karaoke.

If it's for home, you might want to use Karafun which is a FREE and stable software but not designed for KJ's.

Nothing wrong with Winamp if it's to run a show...

i'm sorry if i didn't ask the question right. Here's the thing, i have quiet a few cdg's on disc and i want to back them up on my harddrive. I have the power cdg burner software that could rip the cdg's but when i rip them and try to play them like how you would play mp3+g i get no sound and graphic through winamp. I currently have some songs that i do play on winamp that does work. So my question is why is it when i rip the disc it rips fine like it give me the audio and the cdg text thing but when i go to play it, it plays but like i said no sound and graphics. thanks

Strange, I'm sure you'll find some help in here, I'm no expert with Winamp but did you try Karafun? It kind of look like Winamp but for home use, it's much better in my opinion... And it's FREE

Power CD+G burner works quite well and works with Most drives. Perhaps you need to double check the settings. i.e. Burning Speed for instance.
Kind Regards,

there are two tracks, .mp3 and .cdg. Don't try to play the.cdg, but instead play the .mp3.
I have no experience with the versions of winamp higher than 5.0. The one still on my computers is 2.8! !
When you installed the winamp player, did it launch a stupid "it kicks the lama's aZZ"?? If you didn't hear that, then your audio settings need to be changed to use the winamp sound.
For older versions of winamp...
