Hello everybody...I am back for me help from all the good people here !!

Ok.  I got my power mixer Mackie CFX12 and the power speakers B-52 with a sub that comes with it.  Now I need help connecting it.

1.  What cables do I need to connect the speakers and sub to the mixer and where on the mixer to where on the sub?  I look at the sub it has a Left and Right...but on my mixer there's only 1 Sub Out...??  So why 1 sub out on mixer..and 1 left and 1 right on the sub??? How can I connect it?

2.  Where should I plug my laptop in the mixer because that's where the music is coming from.  Should I use the stereo balance channel or use any of the one of the 8 channels where it label Mic1 to Mic8???

3.  I am planning to use Mic1 and and Mic2 for my two mics.  How can set up the FX and which FX should I use to start playing with echos and delays??  Which delay is it?  Delay 1, 2 or 3 ect...

Well this it for now..unitl I get some audio coming out of my system..I'll come back to ask more questions..

You want the main L and R to go to that, through any equalization you have. Looks from the pictures like that is a standard XLR-XLR cable (a mic cable).


You usually want to use 9/10 in that case. To go from the laptop, you will want 1/8" TRS to 1/4" TS cables:

I don't know the mixer, but it looks like that is the best option. I bet there is also a CD in (those RCA plugs at the top) so if you have this kind of cable:

My Behringer PMH3000 has a nice feature in that 9/10 and 11/12 have both 1/4" and RCA jacks, switch selectable, so I can use either of the above cables.

XLR out  R and L from mixer to B52 system. It has it's own crossover settings you need not to use the sub out from your mixer.


Use Stereo Channel 11/12 for you notebook into the mixer. The CD in does not give you any gain or eq options. A simple 1/8" stereo to 2 - 1/4" mono will do the trick.

You need a standard mic cable XLR male-XLR female.  Connect the MAIN left & right out on the mixer to input on the B52 sub.
The sub out on the mixer is if you have a sub that don't have a built in crossover which the B52 does already.  It only has 1 sub out as most sound engineers run their subs in mono anyway so they don't have to combine their signal externally.  Your system is already setup that way.



Use either the channel 9/10 or 11/12.  A standard 1/8" stereo to 2 1/4" mono cables is what youw ould use.  Your laptop will have either a line out, speaker out or headphone jack - line out would be the first choice but the other two will work.  The cable mcky directed you to is what you'll need.

You will need to turn up the EFX send 2 on the mic channels you effect on - about 9:00 oclock.  Over in the effects block (in the emac squre)  you need to turn up the efx 2 send knob (yellow) to about 10-11 oclock.  Next to it is the effects to main knob (white), turn that up all the way.  As far as which effect to use is STRICTLY personal choice & can vary from song to song as to how well it will work out.  Play with the effect & note which ones sound better.

Ok thank you for all suggestions.  Here are my new problem..

I connected my 2 speakers via 1/4 to the Main Out on the mixer and the XLR from the Sub Out on the mixer to the sub....And I use the 9/10 channel to connect my dvd player... My problem is that I get audio coming out....but it's really soft...I push everything up to the U part..and the Gain is center...and the Main Out i push up to U as well..but it's really soft...and I mean really soft....Even my little cd player push out louder audio...so please advise...

Well those weren't really suggestions, but HOW you should hook it up.  
Get 2 microphone cables.  Connect the MAIN outs (L & R) with the mic cable to the inputs (L & R) on the sub.  DO NOT use the sub output on the mixer, you do not need it.  Then the supplied speaker cords (it should have came with 2 (1 per side)) from the sub to the main speakers!  The sub is the amp that supplies the power to the main speakers.  
It sounds like you are trying to connect the main speakers to the mixer.  Those HAVE to be plugged into the subs speaker output.  Then turn the gain on the sub up to halfway (starting point), you'll normally run it wide open & control the volume from the mixer.
