Hi,

I'm a brand new KJ and setting up a professional 100% digital setup.  I will probably end up with over 70,000 MP3+G on an external harddrive.  I figure it will be better if I just run a fast connection like an 800speed firewire or an esata connection from the external hardrive to my laptop.  From there I can use my hoster software and upload the library of music to that program.  Is anyone familiar with this setup?  What are some of the challenges and difficulties of running a drive like this instead of from your C: Drive's internal memory?  Are there noticable lag times?

Thanks,

Luke

usb is fast enough if you have a big enough processor and memory.

no lag. you can bang them out one after another.

actually, we DO hate those that don't buy their tracks.

We've had three manufacturers close down or slow production to a crawl SPECIFICALLY because of people that get their  tracks this way.

SO excuse me/us for paying such close attention to that kinda detail.

Congratulations... I think in one typed post you went from someone people might help to the bottom of the pile. ((my thoughts only on that!))

Why shouldn't we "be haters"?  A lot of money goes into buying discs, and you showed everyone in two posts that you're using pirated music.

It's the idiots that buy preloaded hard drives without purchasing the original discs that are literally killing the karaoke industry first hand!  So yes, haters we are to thieves!

.Did you really think you were going to get an open arms response from folks here after that post?

It's so obvious nobody comes into this industry with 70,000 tracks and starts a karaoke show without purchasing a preloaded hard drive.

I hope it crashes and burns before you get a chance to back it up :O

I don't hate anyone, but I don't tolerate folks who come on here and think that they can get help once they make it obvious that they have an illegal hard drive full of pirated songs.

Sheesh.....give us a break LMAO

No, he stated that they were MP3+G in his very first post. Did you read the thread?

in his own defense, the folks that sell those drives make it SEEM like it's perfectly legal to do so. The ones I can't stand are the ones that deliberately flaunt the truth of it directly in the manu's faces, and say a big "I don't CARE!"

It's not running the show from an external that is the problem.  The point everyone is trying to make is that he said he's a BRAND NEW KJ and will be starting out with 70,000 songs.  That's very high for a newbie to the business is the point!

As for ur comment of "Less on the C drive, the better!!!", that discussion/debate is on another topic.
