Welp, the kids' parents have hired high-profile attorney Mark Geragos, of Scott Peterson fame, to represent them.  Surprise surprise huh.

Too bad the tiger had to be put down, she coulda taken all the money-grubbing lawyers with her

I wonder if zoo insurance covers that sort of thing. Is there a clause for animals who eat customers. Yikes !

Even a 3rd rated attorney can easily win the case.

Depends on whether it's just a snack or not.  Is this part of a balanced meal ?

Why does everyone seem to be holding up for the "poor tiger"?

I'm an animal lover myself, but for crise sake.... a zoo is suppossed to be a place where you can safely go to see wild animals. Gajillions of kids- little tiny kids- are taken to zoos every day. No matter that a 17 year old kid provoked and teased the animal, it should have been in an enclosure that it couldn't have gotten out of- no matter what the case.

I feel bad for the tiger too, it was all kind of senseless and could have been avoided had the wall been high enough that it couldn't have gotten out.

Do I think the parents should sue? No, not really. I mean, who in their right mind would even be able to ACCEPT money for the death of their kid? I could not. But the zoo needs to be held accountable somehow. This is not the first, nor will it be the last, person to tease an animal in a zoo.

Those kids are not innocent bystanders.

They were committing an act of animal cruelty.  And the tiger may not have been the first victim of those jerks.   If they indeed had sling shots.

You can go to jail for animal cruelty.  But not if your tiger gets loose. :O

The tiger was an innocent victim here.  He was within his rights to defend himself.  Period.  The only one i feel any sympathy for is the tiger.  Stupid doesn't get sympathy.

The kids should not have provoked, or taunted, or been mean in any way to the Tiger... I agree. I do not condone animal cruelty of any kind. Had I of been there, and saw that happening, I'm quite certain I would have went psycho on those boys and told them to leave the Tigers alone.

But a 17 year old boy is dead. I don't think you'd feel the same way had it been your son, or nephew, or cousin, or brother who was killed.

It's a stupid, senseless accident that shouldn't have happened. Yes, provoked, but still.... how in the hell can any man sit there and say they have no empathy for this boy or his family?

"Don't tug on Superman's Cape", as they say. LMAO  LMAO  LMAO

I figured Charm would take the side of the cat.....After all, I remember pics of Charm in her jammies bottle feeding a calf......I was ready to skin a calf then hide in her back yard in my calf skin robe all pucker up waiting for her. LOL

But seeing as how she prefers kids over animals I'll just wear my birthday suit and pretend I'm a newborn.

Will you nurse me then, Charm? :D

The point is: the zoo staff/security system should have prevented that 'stupid' act by those kids. And in not doing so the zoo is going to pay ...

Exactly Jian... I'm not blaming the Tiger. Hell no. It's the zoo's fault.

Keith, I'll deal with you later;)

Nobody is allowed to bully your kid.  So why is it OK to bully a tiger in a cage.

If my kid does something stupid to get himself killed.  Who should i blame?   Me or   the kid?  Unless he is a retard that doesn't know right from wrong.

A tiger is a WILD, MEAT EATING VERY SPECIALIZED KILLING MACHINE WITH VERY BIG TEETH AND RAZOR SHARP 2" LONG CLAWS regardlesss of it surroundings.

He was on a mission to get those kids.  Why hasn't he got loose before?  Something really pi$$ed him off.  And not just a little bit.  They may have really hurt him.  They need to examine him for bruises.
