Just got a new & hooked up tonight a Mackie 1642VLZ3 mixer to replace my aging CFX12 OMG! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I haven't used one of the VLZ series in a couple years & the difference in sound is amazing comparatively. The mics are so much fuller & crisper sounding, I don't have to eq as much. Am now able to utilize both my older Midiverb 3 & my Lexicon effects as well. The CFX12 is going to go back & get a thorough cleaning & become my backup, though I don't think i'll need it. One of the best purchases I have made to date!

Sounds like those pre-amps -- they are using a "soon to be legendary" descriptor in the ads -- are really good. Congrats, glad you like them -- looking forward to singing through them later this month or early next!
