ok I think this works thanks to jian testing it first....this is my son in his first ever operatic performance. Basically it was a show made up of skits. Some will have seen this particular skit online its called karaoke for the deaf

he is a cool kid, just turned 20 last sunday he was convinced his life was over cos nothing could match his teenage years he reckoned .
Sooner or later I am gonna have to do the tough love thing and push him out of the nest to learn to fly...which will be such a shame cos I like having him around...he has the sort of sense of humour that is enjoyable to have around

Don't be in too big a hurry, our oldest son stayed here until he was 27 and finally decided to get on with his life, moved out, popped the question to his long time girl friend and got married. I think not feeling rushed gave him time to find the right one and do plenty of messing up without really ruining his life. He is doing wonderfully now. We were kind of wondering if he was EVER going to leave but once we stopped putting food in the fridge for a couple of weeks off he went!
Just saying...

Who cares how it looks? :D
I am only kidding of course, I am a step dad too, a real dad also but for our oldest he was my stepson. I love him just the same though and I really never did mind having him around. They were teenagers when I married Jan, I knew what i was getting into, sort of. I like the house full and buzzing with kids and it generally is most days and nights, we are up to 5 grandkids now and there are almost always some of them around. My youngest son is tuning 13 today too so it will be a long time before we ever actually get that empty nest syndrome we used to dream about. I like it myself, it's fun and it keeps me young and busy and also keeps my mind off of how old and tired I am...

Glad you were able to get this one posted for us all to see Vicki... really enjoyed his performance. I agree, he should be making line-work his second occupation!

thank you Murray for taking a look...if he had had the right temperament (ie the dedication and ability to concentrate) I would have put him thru university. But where he had always got straight A's in drama and music and barely passed anything else, he was short on numeracy and literacy credits and it required him to make these up if he were to obtain entrance. When his grades for drama started failing cos he was dedicating all his time to music then I kinda told him to grow up and get a job, then if he was really committed, he could pay his own way thru college.
I think I was right in doing it...he now earns more than me, can purchase anything he really wants (and they all seem to be guitars), thinks nothing of flying to wellington for a shag and can perform (on stage that is) if and when he feels like it
