I need to purchase a sound system for my music studio. I currently use headphones for all of my recordings but need a sound system for a more realistic playback monitor. I have a 200 watt Logitec system hooked up to my PC in another part of the house that sounds pretty decent. In my studio I can hook a sound system to my laptop or perhaps powered speakers coming from my mixer. Does anyone have a perspective on Bose being worth the extra money or is it the name you are paying for? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Just a suggestion, check out the Behringer Truth monitors. They have them at Guitar Center, Sam Ash, Musicians Friend etc. you can also get them on ebay. They come in both powered and passive. A lot less expensive than the bose system for a studio. Read the reviews on these speakers.

I own a Bose L1 w/2B1 Bass Bins and I love the sound.

Your application seems to be perfect for the Bose system it is a all in one system
Amp, Speakers etc.

You can use your own mixer or use the new T1 Bose Mixer with the L1. The T1 can be connected to your laptop via USB and you eliminate the need for a sound card. It has excellent effects for vocals and music. I use the T1 and have found it to be far superior to any mixer I have used (Yamaha or Mackie)

The price tag for the L1,B1,T1 combo is like $2800 and seems a bit pricey but you will fall in love with the unit. Now that I have experienced Bose I could never go back to a conventional PA system.

They have a musicians forum that provides excellent support from Bose users and engineers from all over the world. It's an amazing community of folks there to help you.

Thumbs up on this end :dancin:

If you are talking a true studio. The Bose System would only work if you used 2 L1 radiators.

The single system is not stereo and would be useless unless you want to hear everything in mono.

If you would like something high powered for loud play back comparison I would suggest a flat response speaker made for studio monitoring Mackie and JBL have very nice options running $1000 to $1500 for the pair. I would suggest a bi-amped system. You may also want to add a studio sub.
