Anyone using the Power DVD burner software? I'm very interested in this. It seems to me that DVD Karaoke discs would be a lot better than CD+G because they can hold hundreds of songs instead of 15-20 per disc like on CD. I have PCDJ on my laptop so I could run the DVDs on my laptop or on a regular DVD player.

SHould just get the kj portion of pcdj & convert all the cdg's to a format that it can read instead of dealing with physical discs.

That's a good suggestion and I'll be using the laptop for Karoke, but I also would like to be able to use my DVD Karoke player so I have a backup if the laptop is on the fritz and so I'll have a dual system with both the laptop and the DVD player side by side. That way I have all the bases covered.

stogie,

Is your DVD Karaoke player made by CAVS? If so, you can put more than
one thousand tracks on a Disc. It's called Super CDG.

No it's not a CAVS. I specifically stayed away from CAVS or NEO because I figured I wouldn't  be able to do anything with those formats on my computer like copy the discs or make compilation discs etc. because of the formats that the super CDs use.

My machine looks just like a regular Karaoke machine with echo control knob, + and - key change buttons, track number buttons, fwd, rev etc. but it also plays DVDs, mp3, MPEG, CD-R, CD+G and so on.

I simply want to be able to play both regular CD+G disks AND DVD discs with Karaoke tracks on both my laptop and on my Karoke machine.

The thing that makes the DVD Karoke compilation disks attractive to me is that I can put around 300 tracks on one disk instead of 15-18 on a regular CD+G disc. This makes it easy for me to put nearly all the songs that I perform on one disc and have another disc as backup in case that first disc gets scratched, lost, left at home etc.

I want to have my laptop and my Karaoke machine there and available to use depending on what I am doing that night. I want to be prepared just in case something goes wrong with either the Karoke machine or the laptop.

If I'm DJing a wedding and the laptop freezes up I can still have tons of music at my fingertips ready to go on disks that can be played in my DVD/CG+G/MPEG/MP3 player. Over time I can have 3000 or more songs on just 10 DVD discs instead of carrying around hundreds of CDs all the time. I just bought a 500+ CD collection that I can put on a few DVDs. That's a huge savings in wieght and bulk.
