Hey!! Okay, okay, so maybe I'm not always so mild mannered;) Yeah, blame it on those southern roots.  LOL

A 'thank you' being considered rude????

No, no, not saying "thank you" is rude. There are times, when someone has commented to me and I don't know them at all I have said little else besides "thank you for coming by, I appreciate the listen and comment" and I know that sounds a little too "general", but for lack of something more familiar to say- that's all I put. And at other times I've done that cause I'm hurrying to get everyone replied to. I have a problem with saying the esact same phrase to everyone... seems like you're not even thinking out your replies.

In both instances I had said Hi (with their name) ' thanking them with smileys. Yes I may have been at a loss for words that day but was still acknowledging them. It wasn't as if I hadn't answered at all and in both cases these were people who songs I had frequented many times and given  comments with much substance. On the other side of the coin I tend to be far more fluid with words when I go to someone elses sub than when responding to my own. If that appears impersonal to some, then so be it.  I think we all can agree that when you don't see the person's body gestures or eyes, internet communication can be quite nebulous..:)

I mean... to acknowledge EVERY comment, the same way, as in "TY".... "TY".... "TY.... all down the page, seems very very impersonal to me.

(edit... wow, I really slurred the word "exact", didn't I?)  LOL

I need a drink. Who's buyin'?
I got a brand new bottle, ya don't mind not usin' a glass dya  LMAO

Oh, heck... I'll use a mason jar if that's all ya got. Seriously, a drink sounds good right now. But since I have to drive northwards here in a bit... I dunno if the cops would agree on how I "needed" it before getting in the truck.

And why am I excusing myself from drinking online? What an idiot. It's not like I'm "really" drinking.. ha, drunken surfing, that's me.

Sure, Cathi, pass me a glass w/some cranberry for flavor. (4:1 ratio please, no darker than blushy pink)  LOL

Joyce, bottom line (IMO anyhow) is that you should comment and reply how YOU feel is appropriate, not how anyone else deems you should.

I was just stating my personal way of wanting to do things. IMO, replying in the same way to each and every comment seems impersonal. Maybe other people (who do reply that way)  think it's better that way so that they don't appear to be playng favs with people? Ya never know.

To each his own... I'm not here to call anyone to task for how they comment and/or reply... again, just stating my personal view.  And never once have I ever thought you didn't respond in a fun, friendly manner. I have seen people who don't reply at all it seems, back when I was pretty active in SS, I never really cared- maybe just wondered their motive I guess.

Gonna point my horse west and hope I get there by nightfall. (yeehaw)

Shuddup Odie.. yanno I hate all that freeway hoopla:) All those smooth black lanes in the road with actual LINES painted on them make me nervous. But I'm a big girl (sorta)... I'll make it.  :D

(edit.. what a dork, just dawned on me as I re-read my post.... Portland is North, not West)  LMAO

I have a feeling Joyce makes a mean Mojito.  From how she has described them to me, they sound great!  Same with those pretzels.

Oh, gosh.. for some reason when I read the word chipotle, it made me think of wasabi.

Does anyone here actually LIKE that stuff? My son likes to eat Wasabi peas and Wasabi flavored Funyons........  :puke:

( i literally just shivered while typing that.. lordie, but that stuff should be for killing rats, not for human consumption)

.

Silly, when you go into the BIG city, they have those huge green signs telling you which way to go... they even tell ya how many miles till you get there... I can find my way;)

Speaking of which, I gotta head.

If I don't talk to all of you before then, hope everyone has a great christmas and new years.

Ugh... Joyce... You must have a stronger stomach than I, because I even smell them dang things and I retch.  LOL

My first experience with them, I had never heard of wasabi before. My son, knowing I love green peas, comes home with a bag and says "mom, try these new dried peas"... and of course, pig that I am, I filled my palm with them and crammed the whole lot in my mouth. (like ya'd do with a handful of dry roasted p-nuts) Wowza... they were so twangy and hot at the same time, it was awful.

And funny, cause I like hot stuff. I love jalapenos on buttered bread (yeah, I know, kinda wierd, but dont' knock it till you've tried it) And I love Mexican (authentic Mexican) food. But those wasabi... I dunno, they weren't just "hot", it's like they raised my body temperature.  LOL

It was like hot-bitter-twangy-sour, all mixed up into one. My taste buds were like "what the hell? is this some kind of a test?"

Haha

I gotta get so's I don't hit the bad 5 o'clock traffic when I head back home. (or... I will indeed get lost)

See ya all later... have fun.
