O.K....Hi, my name is Joyce and I am an idiot .
I am running a Yamaha EMX5014 powered Mixer-500 Watts With 2 Yamaha S115 500 Watt speakers. It works very well for the smaller Bars I do.
I just picked up 2 Peavy Sp-1--1,800 Watt Speakers. I wish to use these in some bigger vernues I have coming up.
So here's my stupid question...how do I incorporate these speakers into my current system?
That's all I will ask ...any more questions would make me look dumber . Please if someone answers use simple terms .

Peavey speakers are pretty power hungry to make them work really well.  Your current amp isn't nearly powerful enough to adequately push the SP1.  It only pushes 350 watts into 8 ohms.  The Peavey should have an amp pushing around 900 watts per channel into 8 ohms.  Would recommend a separate power amp for the Peaveys, you can use it with your current mixer via the ST Out jacks on the top of the mixer - NOT the speaker outputs.

All great suggestions form Lonman. Not to add any confusion.

I will add, some of the large power amplifers require a dedicated 20 amp circuit and use the 20 power plug. While not rinning in a bridge mono application you would not every come close to drawing 20 amps it is not reccomended to use an adapter to a standard outlet. That and it would be against most fire codes.

Remeber one of the largest causes for speaker failue is under powering.

I own 2 crown xs1200 they require a dedicated 20 amp circuit. I use them with a distro box.

With the PLX 3602 the highest current draw I have seen with an 8 Ohm load has been 9A which cuts close on a 20 amp circuit if you run 2 like I do. I have never run the crown amps with an 8ohm load I use them bridge mono with a 4 ohm load and draw 16A to 18A each.

if I was the one spending the money on a power amp I would look for a crown K2. they are out of production, BUT they are a low draw high output amp that runs kool without fans.they also hardly ever break. I actually fully intend to eventualy get one, but do not nead one for the karaoke I am doing now. I have done sound for bands at LARGE outdoor festivals (5000 people) with 2 of these amps. we did have 6 very efficient EV subs and 4 EV tops. speakers that are efficient are cheaper that amps that make 10000 watts and dont blow circuit breakers.Mackie does have a couple amps in the 1000 watt range that won't brake ya.
     the best option for large venues would be to get a couple of single 18 subs. JBL sells a couple different models that are powered and sound good. so you wouldn't need an extra amp. the price is in the ballpark of what a really good amp will cost, but setup is much less work than with more speakers more amps more cables ect there are less expensive brands out there, but you get what you pay for.  it would be getting more technical again but you could then use an active crossover to take the ultra low bass out of your tops alowing you to get more volume out of them with only 500 watts.
  Being that IM firmiliar with your area im willing to bet you do not have any discount music retailers around you but if you want you can im me and I can give you the 411 on the guy i deal with near milwaukee. he can and will make deals that are worth your drive whatever option you choose. he has blown away prices that I thought were good on ebay.
