The soundcard?  I'd put it on the line input.

I heard nothing on line... perhaps because SM-58 is going in standard 1/4 out mic cable into mixer 1/4 Mic in... I need to have switch to mic ?  I have no idea what mic attenuator means.

Would I do better to put one of the XLR cable on this microphone and use my XLR to 1/2 imp converter ?

I'm going 1/4 into this mixer, and stereo 1/8 line out into computer line in

Make sure the line input is turned on on the soundcard & not muted.  Double click the little volume icon on the task bar in the bottom right corner next to the time/date.  This should bring up the sound card audio properties.

Is attenuator on the same as line level ?  Should I switch from mic to mic atten ? for higher output ?
