Last night we had 3rd game of the world series which here is a big thing (1st time) We couldnt setup until 11:00 So the mngr came up and had talked to James the owner and asked if we could go until 1:30 which would be about 2 hrs. James asked would $100 be enough ? He left it up to me how much I wanted. I could have said $150 our regular amount.

Now several times we have gone over sometimes 1/2 hr no charge. For a split second I was disappointed but I cherish the working relationship we have with this little bar. In a few months it will be $250/night when we move into the big part. Yea 100 will  WorK!!! We are at the point we could demand more but I will not until I am satisfied we deserve it.

That is very correct.  Most people in our business lose sight of that fact of keeping the *relationship* between us and the owners.  I have several DJ/KJ friends, while they are good at what they do (they get greedy), they burn too many bridges and will say things to me like.  "I would never work for that, it's ($ this amount or nothing)"  but hmmmmmmm, let's see.....I was working last weekend....oh, you were home again!  You need to choose when to up the ante.  MrD

Just make sure they don't make a habit of it !!

If you were there at regular time --you should be paid 100%

I'm sure the place was packed with baseball fans so he wasn't losing any money
and your time is what you get paid for also !!

LMAO I Know any other bar it would have been full pay. But the potential here outweighs $50 The bar owner or mngr would do anything for us. They give us full rein as far as our show We almost run our own hours. It is a dream gig and is the culmination of developing one of the best systems ever and hiring the the best host I have ever sang with.

The Rockies are a team based upon young good players. Holliday was an all american quarterback in high school (just one example)They had some good experience this go around They will be back LOL My mom is 80+ and got to see her Rockies in the Series....

I just bought a snake off of ebay Turned out the guy was from Pheonix WE talked on the phone and joked about how the Rockies knocked the the D-Backs out and maybe they should have went to the series.. In fact Im going to give this guy (Scott) a plug
