ok time I fessed up and might as well do it here since we are off topic and the topic police have shifted it....
this is my 7th day off the ciggys and I am finding it really tough. I was in such a bad way yesterday that I decided I would try a patch...omg it made me very very ill. My world started spinning, my stomach started churning and hot flushes had nothing on the heat that I was producing in abundance. So I slept on the couch last nite so as I could make a quicker dash to the toilet.
its too early today to tell if I have cravings cos normally I can go most of the day without smoking.
One of my worst things was getting into the car and lighting up...with the new car, there is no ashtray so we had already made the decision not to smoke in there.
So I am not saying I am giving up, just promising to give it a try.
I am scared how it will affect the lows in my voice...without them I might as well give up singing

What's important now is to NOT have ANY expectations of yourself other than giving up the smoking habit second by second FOR NOW..  Do not try hard to relate to others, keep it light, do NOT allow yourself into situations that bring upon the SMALLEST amount of stress because everything is GOING to be magnified.. Do not try singing right now assuming it is something you did where ciggies boosted mood..


Treat this as an illness for now.. Tell those around you what's happening, if you must take personal days, take them.. This is among the top 3 toughest drug addictions to kick EVER.. Currently you are going thru withdrawal.. DO NOT minimize the difficulty and discomfort you are going to feel... I'm serious, treat the first few weeks as if you have the flu !
