Got this message supposedly from an ebay member. I am bidding  on this item. link


I have had ebay members meesage but they id'd themselves with their ebay Id.

Did you ask him to end the auction early, or do an "off ebay" transaction ?   He wishes to have the security of only interacting on Ebay, makes sense IMO

I think what he's saying is he wont sell the item for a set price, he's going to put items on auction and whatever the highest bidder bids, will be the price.. He doesn't wish to let it go for a set price, or convert to BIN item.  Just wishes to let the auction process do it's thing..  He's telling you if you want the item.  bid, he won't take it off the auction block to let it go for a set price

The email you received is not from the Ebay member that is connected to the auction number 260168057268 , is this correct?

If thats the case ignore the unsolicited email, more than likely a con.

Yea he would used the Ebay member contact system.. So I knew this was 3rd party. Ive received many second offers from ebay members but it shows up in your im box too.  The reason I was So Tempted I want another G2 and for $200

Then when I got his response to my reply I was rolling on the floor I have put together 2 systems and bought many cdg's on Ebay. Pos rating 156 100%. Thats not how you sell on Ebay

Before I even started this thread I forwarded it to spoof@ebay.com..This thread is to make anybody aware of spoofs. This one was a little different..

Actual sale with 11 hrs left I am high bid at $301 I know it wont go for that but I can dream In the last minutes I'll at about 400. Cant afford much right now.

Ebay is a great place to find some deals, but as you already know, just have to be cautious at times and of course if it sounds to good, it is. I've been on Ebay since 1997 and have only ran into a couple of perhaps less than honest sellers out of over a couple of hundred transactions. I've gotten some of my best deals by searching out items either miss spelled or perhaps listed in the wrong category. I am a true Ebay Ninja, best snipe under 2 seconds

ur the one Sometimes its better than catching a big fish A few hundred dollars and ur siiting there with the cursor on confirm bid and waiting for the precise moment and heart pounding. Ive gone to farm auctions and sales barns all my life. I can apply some of that experience to Ebay but it is different online ..

The whole Ebay thing has grown immensely, but it's become a double edged sword also, far more people mean far more items, but at the same time, it's become harder to get a good deal because their are some people on Ebay that apparently don't have a clue on value of some item's. I've seen some of those clowns pay more used than I can get the same item new for. The real good deals are getting harder to come by.

Yea its a good idea to go to pricewatch first and an idea of worth. Sometimes I'll just buy from one of these companies rather than deal with ebay. A lot of times with the smaller stuff a large seller will saturate and you can get a good deal.
