This took a lot of researching..

Well, Music of the Night sounds OK thru the PA..  I turn the bass up about 3/4 of the way, and cut back the treble to around half point, mid about half point and of course add reverb !   It doesn't sound bad, yet I'm hiding behind the music IOW... I'm singing in tune, but I'm having a tough time wanting to cut thru the mix because of fear of being exposed... Strange I suppose.. I sound good really soft..  But what I have to do is turn bass up and cut treble... and it kills some of the nerdy sounding vocal traits I've been blessed with :(

IOW? In Other Words?

I'm not familiar with forum lingo, however I am a word guru, so I just guessed that one, if I'm wrong then ya must give me a breakdown on the different abbreviations that ya'll use in here...

Yes,  It's the acronym for In other words.. I think in computer jargon this would still be considered an acronym ?  I have the toughest time now-adays differentiating between Then and Than, Although I know Than is "past tense" or "comparative", I still mess up.. Also apostrophe use... until MJK corrected my improper use of personal possessive, etc..  I was putting apostrophes between everything :( .  They just looked pretty cool

I grew up in a household (and naturally rebelled for a good part of the time) where it was stressed that how a person communicates and expresses themselves compositionally is exceptionally important. Performing however is the epitome of when a person MUST do what they do EXTREMELY well in the arts (if not people think less of them) now while I don't want to feel this way, nor do I wish to agree with this perspective it's how I was taught, and trained in music. Perhaps things have evolved and people don't have expectations set high regarding others.  I hope things have changed, but I don't know)..  If there are people at the receiving end either reading, listening to, or viewing a form of expression, they do usually judge formulating opinions in many settings (solely upon performance).. I don't like to feel this to be the case, because it appears superficial. Question is, superficial or not, are most people judgemental ?  I personally believe they are based upon my own life experiences.

Every one is judgemental in their own way, even though 97% will say, "Oh I never judge!" Bologna, every one does it, it's a force of habit!!! Many might not be openly judgemental, but don't let that fool ya, we all are...

Mr. Kaplan, how is it humanly possible that you posted over 10,000 posts, is that an error of sorts?

{EDIT} Never mind the above, ya see I just realized that I have been here for a few days, and I am already a *Major Poster* Oh the humanity!

I don't read, I don't watch TV, I don't get out much, but when I grow up, I'm going to have a real life.

Only honest answer is I have a compulsive personality :(    While some people have a mechanism that enables them to do things in moderation. My mechanism flew the coup during the 1970's.  Might've also have had something to do with the incident when I got kicked in the head by a horse, or fell off the monkey bars while hanging upside down in 3rd grade..  Probably all these aspects contribute.

I'm surprised you don't read!

Another homework assignment {If interested} try reading something by Dean Koontz. He & Stephen King are fascinating writers!

I'm really hyper.  Have a tough time sitting still.  For some reason the computer is interactive enough to keep me occupied. But I usually end up just reading words on a book page, and getting really distracted thinking about other stuff.  I just can't focus for some reason.  Strange, I know.. Yet true, I'm hyperactive, and I get flooded with all sorts of other stimuli easily.  I need to attempt to meditate or do something to slow me down, and bring me into the hear and now.

I find this really interesting for some reason.  Probably because I'm partially nutz.  None-the-less,

Well,  From the perspective of those of us that've gotten to know a few of these first (and veteran) Karaoke Scene members, it's funny to see their demeanor as newbies.
(It also doesn't take much to amuse me, in fact ever since I discovered the secret to true happiness is really low standards, I've been smiling quite abit)
