So anyway this one I'll never forget. Over in the Newbie Welcome section during a discussion with Dani about the paranormal I can't forget my first experience with Telekenesis
I was learning about freaky stuff such as how the mind has an energy field, and certain stuff can actually get "moved" by projecting the minds energy.. Well, this made no sense UNTIL a few minutes after sort've freaking out that this stuff, as well as astral projection can happen (OK, I was 10 years old at the time), I'm sitting at the kitchen table, my mom takes the top of the coffee percolator off, puts it on the Formica counter, and the thing goes sliding across the full length of the counter... I sort've not only lost my bladder and other stuff, but I haven't been quite the same since seeing what I thought was my nervous mind moving kitchen untensils around ![Shocked ](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)

Moving things with the mind.....hmmmm I do that all the time, you know those round green things that grow in tree's...some people call them walnuts. I can make them fall, even if they've been up there all summer just getting bigger and bigger. I'm not sure if its my mind or not, it may be my magic rake, but all I have to do is rake the lawn and poof they start falling all over the place. I get pretty busy this time of year.

Here in CT. We call those Acorns.
I have certain extrasensory powers. I can cause windows in womens cars to roll up in parking lots before I even approach them. Doors to lock too !

You truly do posess magical powers sir, but can you aspire to the same level of success when tinted windows are involved? By the way, I have the ability to make even band groupies solicit every other member of the band (and even the drunk guy in the corner) while remaining untouched by the onslaught. It just occurred to me that I might have achieved invisibility and hadn't realized it.

Quote: but can you aspire to the same level of success when tinted windows are involved? Are you inferring that there MIGHT be a scientific explanation for this phenomenon after-all ![Shocked ](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif) ? Perhaps, the physical properties of certain types of glass depending on how it's hit by the sun ? Hmmmm... How'd you EVER figure this out :headscratch: Quote: By the way, I have the ability to make even band groupies solicit every other member of the band
BUT, Using just the powers of your mind can you keep the drummer from jumping everything that in some way resembles a female ? Many a pundit has remained skeptical of metaphysics citing this as a prime example of why the mind only has so much control.

I don't recall mentioning that I could perform miracles.
We're talking about a drummer that walked out on stage the other night wearing one of those old WW1 leather pilots hats complete with goggles and ear flaps, knee high rubber farmer boots (3 sizes to big and yellow in color) and a bath robe. I think perhaps his powers might be dimming on him. I can't help but think, but for the grace of god.....I....I ...too....might have been a drummer.

Well, if I heard you sing, then MAYBE we could discuss getting you out of your mom's basement....and at least out to the karaoke clubs...*impish grin*

Quote: That's not what I heard. Well, High Strung isn't high maintenance. As long as the Karaoke clubs have a URL I can access from the computer, I'm ready to party ![Party ](./images/smilies/party5.sml.gif)

An online karaoke club. That sounds like a great idea.

Good thinking ! Can you imagine how cool it'd be if there was some interactive means that people could sing and hear one-another ? I'm thinking along the lines of some type of gallery where they could have a place listing their name, song title, and sing to backing and somehow upload it. Although I'm not usually the most creative person. Once in awhile, I do get an innovative idea !!!

I think that idea rocks. Most home PCs these days have nearly all of the equipment necessary to do that.
If only Ben (Eben) had the time to make a working model. (hint, hint)

How can you get music over phone lines though ? People would need to somehow hook up speakers to these word processors. I thought all you could do is type back and forth on these word processors ? How is it possible to get music to appear on this big scroll of paper here ?

Good point. It would require a broadband connection. You must have one the ollder word processors. They are making some these days that could handle a server based application that would be needed to participate in online karaoke. If they were set up like chatrooms the rotation wouldn't be so bad.

Yeah, As soon as they get the glitches out've Fidonet this will be cool !
I have the neatest dreams about 1/4 inch plugs on my machine and being able to hook the Altec bins up in stereo ! That'd complete my home station !
If we all had picture phones that'd be cool too ! Sort've like that game Pong.. We could see each other on the black and white televisions while typing

That's a classic Kappy. Screw the newer models, stay with the quality. Meep can probably tell you how to have at least 3 or 4 watts coming from your unit.

That all depends on how much you paid. I'd pay at least $1.50 for the one in the picture.
