The bar is having their annual HALLOWEEN Party at my Saturday show on the 27th.
They'll have the usual FREEBIE giveawys that they get from the local beer and booze distributors and maybe even some $$$ for best costume etc.
Anyone else have any plans yet ?
Besides wearing a costume and playing the usual "spookie" Halloween songs
Any interesting Ideas or suggestions or games to make the night SPECIAL ?

Halloween is my favorite holiday for karaoke. People can put on a costume and sing songs they have never done before and its not them if they botch it Encourage this. WE usually dont need to have a halloween theme the crowd does that although some KJ's are costumed and present a different personality at their show which is refreshing at times. It is not a typical karaoke night Do not have rules Have FUN!!!

Yeah, we've got the party going on at the bar I'm working at. Still trying to think of a good costume. My ICP partner bailed on me and is going to be something else. I'm looking forward to the party, hope it works out good...MrD

I'm sure both of my local joints will have a Halloween party.... they usually have awards for best costumes (with free drink and restaurant coupons) and people cut loose with silly Halloweeny type songs. Last year a guy dressed as a lady and tried to go in the women's restroom. LMAO I thought my hubby was gonna knock a few of his teeth out, cause I happened to be in there at the time.
Can't hardly wait, actually, it's gonna be fun:)
But I don't know ONE single song that qualifies for Halloween Karaoke... guess I should learn something.

I'm glad you brought this up. I'm not sure if I should have the party on Saturday or Wednesday. It made sense to me to do it on Wednesday because it is the actual day of Halloween. what ya guys think?

Saturday would be my choice
a) No work the next day
b) Some people need to be home on Halloween as they have children that may be out trick or treating or just need to be home to answer their own doors etc.

More people would be inclined to come on Saturday over Wednesday. No coming home from work, having dinner, (if kids getting them set ready for trick or treating), coming back getting your costume ready, going to the club, knowing you have to work the next day, not partying as much (spending) because you don't want to be hungover for work the next day, etc....At least that's the way I look at it.
Saturday night would be my pick as well. Ours is also being held on Sat.

Well besides dressing up ourselves and our equipment. I always have a bowl of candy out and give away either beads or glow bracelets to the singers. Of course you have to sing to get the beads , but like another said with costumes you tend to get a few more people willing to sing.

Saturday is the day I'm doing it. After talking to the bar owner and manager it does make sense. It is a little different where I work because it seems I can have just as big a crowd on a Wednesday as a Saturday. But as you guys stated it is much more fun for people not to worry about getting up the next morning for work. Plus the bar is open until 3am on Saturday. More profit for all.
