Hi Kappy, I just noticed this place, Is this where people like me are suppose to hang out? Quote: Can you say "made from plywood"? Those are about the cheapest made instruments I've ever laid my hands on. Don't look now, but if that guitar you have your eye on on Ebay is an AE405TV, i'm pretty sure that is made out of plywood also, with laminates applied. Just giving a heads up. I think Acoustics are hard to buy online because their are so many variables involved.

I'm still working on that Head East, I am making progress, but some of those runs just aren't natural for me, then again, what is any way

If it hurts too much to learn because of action, warped neck or whatever, few will have incentive to continue Yeah, it will be a good guitar for her to have around. I just can't believe of the 2, she'd have bought that one. I have played Johnson guitars and Johnson mandolins, and just didn't feel either would be worth the money or time spent to get one. The stick thingee, I dunno, I played it when she brought it home, it's kinda fun... but nothing I'd ever pick up habitually. Just a silly little thing, if ya ask me. I'm aware it's NOT a top of the line guitar, but I can't afford one of those just yet. I wouldn't spend much over what I've bid on this guitar to get something online, sight unseen. (strings untwanged, Lol) Difference with this one is, I've played a few Ibanez guitars, and I like them. Small size and a comfie fret board make A LOT of difference in how well I personally will like a guitar. I have very small hands and that limits how well I can play a jumbo size one. I even LOOK funny if I play too large of a guitar. LMAO And like I said, I've played Ibanez, one very similar to this... and while it wasn't the loudest guitar in the world, it was perfect for my hands. And, it is acoustic/electric. (once someone fixes the pickup anyhow, which is cheap enough) I wouldn't pay any more than what I've bid on the guitar. But, if I can get it for that, heck no I wont pass it up.
(how to tell the hubby I've bid on another one is the only hard part, dang but it's hard to hide a guitar in the house) .....
I gotta get to work... today's a big day... wish me luck:)
You guys have a good day.

How are your bandmates doing rhythmically with the opening measures of the song ? I can imagine in my day, the problem wouldn't just be my own; meaning the drums, and bass might not be playing that pattern tight enough, letting the chord ring long enough, and have the timing just right which is imperative in this song, It's all about rhythmic tightness (although I believe in the recording studio they compressed and high-line recorded quite abit EQ'ing out a considerable amount to get such tightness, it does sound pretty compressed doesn't it ?), This recording seems to use some gimmicky studio work. Are you folks also playing ALONG with the original song to get you started ? Sometimes it does help to have that type head-to-head comparison going behind you for dynamics

I'm having a difficult time posting to this thread as well btw.. I left Phill the following message in comment section
Quote: Hello Phill, Can you help us out with the following thread.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All Forums -> Open Forums, Karaoke Discussion Forum -> Music and Musician chat.. All styles equally welcome. If it's about music post it here ! Click the 2nd to the last page
What happens is often the last page listed is a ghost page, however often upon entering a post I have probs doing that as well. Seems there's a glitch that favors "None existence". Message reads "No posts exist for this topic."
(Well, I assume it's a glitch, might be a pc means to shut me up too of course)

London Live, I'm curious, don't know for sure.. But aren't MOST hollow body, or birdseye maple, flamed maple tops, even tops of LP's which are often maple, on mahogany "Laminated" tops ? Different layers of wood ? Unless of course a guitar is solid mohogany or like the Seagull S-6 Cedar and spruce tops solid spruce I thought most guitars actually were laminant material (when you get into the nicer finished tops).

Yeah, well ummm..... that's about all I want to bid on it as well. Looks like me and him put the same maximum on it.
I'll watch it, but I really don't want to exceed that. Not when I have plans for eventually getting a REALLY nice one. (yeah right, eventually.... haha)
Yikes, it ends tonight around 8'ish... I'll be at the outlet malls with my daughter. :(
Steven, did this thread actually MAKE it to page 28 now? Seems the error is gone.

Sometimes large posts have problems the thread gets too long and for some odd reason the forum goes screwy...
Not certain what causes it so it will be hard to remedy...
You may wish to add a new post at the bottom telling people to go to a new thread (which of course you would have to start)

Italian tenor Pavarotti dies at age 71
AP - 1 minute ago
ROME - Luciano Pavarotti, whose vibrant high C's and ebullient showmanship made him the most beloved and celebrated tenor since Caruso and one of the few opera singers to win crossover fame as a popular superstar, died Thursday. He was 71.
