Uh huh, I prefer no switches too. I have a SM58 & a SM57 for home use and the ones used at karaoke have no switches either.

I recently sang at the local county fair... as I walked up, the only mic I saw was the corded one in the mic stand (and.. I don't like those... ) So, the guy notices I'm having to sing at the mic stand, and sneaks over to me to hand me a cordless. I quickly change mics..... only to realize it wasn't working.   I'm so used to not having a switch, I didn't think about it being *off*. I just grabbed the other mic back and said hell with it.... but yeah, I hate mics with on/off switches. They should be outlawed:)

Hey Vicki, I just ordered a Shure ULXP wireless system.... had a lot of research to do to find one compatible to NZ frequencies.... I saw the same unit advertised on Jands Australian site for around $2400 (AUS).  Mine comes out at around $850 (USD)... Now just who do you think Jands is trying to rip off?  I thought the AUS Dollar was worth a bit more than $0.35 USD!  Guess that's what happens when there's only one supplier huh?

hey Murray how are you sweet man? I just looked up prosound's website last nite and their cordless sm58 is $1299...they do have a cheaper one avail at $750 and its a 58 but not sm...alzheimers is preventing me from recalling the letters :P
I cant fault my sennheiser freeport cordless for what I want. I wouldnt recommend it as a "rugged" mic for karaoke use because the housing is cheap and nasty but the clarity of sound blows you away. Only thing is...at the gig on saturday I went thru 2 1/2 batteries in the 6 hour period...when battery gets low I get these horrible popping sounds coming thru my speakers. oops that reminds me I best put the rechargables in the recharger if they are to be fully charged
