Can't find great deals this labor day.  Nothing seems better than just about any given time for some reason this year :headscratch:

Perhaps XP Bargains will show something ?  Dunno.

Sometimes we can assume it's true that if something appears too cheap to be good, it almost certainly is.  Othertimes we can end up fools for not taking chances..  Has anyone had any experience with these lesser known name speakers ?  Over 100 good reviews seems that they can't be all bad for louder larger room use..  Not sure.. Can they be much worse than white van specials ?  These have a liberal return policy.

On overstock these figures aren't made up..  So I'm thinking about this... Dunno

Not sure why,  but this is the absolute WORST Labor Day Weekend I recall in the past 15 years regarding :Interent Retailers: seeming to have incentive to move inventory.. I wonder why ?  Perhaps retail establishments know something we do not ?  Such as they don't need to run spectacular sales anymore to get our business ??

Anybody know of any interesting electronic stuff that's on sale this year ?  I like buying electronic toys (no not like the Flashlight device that's on sale that Jerry's been wanting).

Ollie,  I did see what "Tiger" is calling a sale LOL.  Do you find those prices any better than every day prices sites have though ?   The sale banner looks good, the prices don't.

Kappy <---- Fugal Byotch !

I'm a big supporter of New Egg too.  Can't beat their customer service.  But nothing seems out've the norm in many of these sites IMHO..

If all else fails,  Sears usually has something of interest.  I'll likely be perusing the Craftsman site tonight !

Ollie since you were an electronics guy,  For micro-screwdrivers do you have any experience with Xcelight, or WIHA ?  I like Chrome Vanadium alloy in terms of it's durability,  my snap-on drivers really suck,  although Klein I'm fond of but those also use Chrome Vanadium which is tougher than the steel heads and shanks..  I need a set of very small screwdrivers... Wondering what to get, I know I don't need extra durability for this stuff,  but I want it...  WIHA seems interesting but never used them.... Not sure about Xcelight these days.  SK, Mac, Matco, Cornwell (no longer around) are fine and I have their stuff, but without the trucks coming by there's little advantage given cost.  Never again Snap-on without a truck in the area at least once a week... $$$$  for stuff that's not much more durable than Crescent, Klein, or Craftsman MEchanices line IMO

Seems craftsman is about the best in terms of cost for decent quality given lifetime replacement on defective tools..

This is a VERY good brand.  I wonder if this is per speaker, or for both bookshelf speakers ?  I also wonder how the smaller rear-Klipsch speakers they carry are.

Used to have a full excelite set but anymore just do this. Ace Hardware torx This has every size or type of driver known.

I use these in a cordless drill or hand screw driver. As they wear out or get lost they are very cheap to replace.

I've not heard the greatest things about Tiger Direct.  On the otherhand, I can't say enough positive stuff about my great experiences with New Egg. I'd recommend them 110%.  How many businesses are with you 100% of the way, and even send you thank you notes ?

Ollie.  My own experience with using handtools on a lot of steel parts has been whether an item states it's hardened steel, Carbon coated steel, Titanium blade.. The best alloy is by far Chrome Vanadium regardless of the price (and it's usually considerably less than the big-4 which were Snap-On, Mac, Cornwell, and Matco"..  For screwdrivers I've yet to find a tougher tip, and for that reason I like Klein tools, and the WIHA driver I tried was dang good too (also Chrome Vanadium alloy) but I have really strong wrists (no comments please), and I'm tough on handtools..(as a result I've hurt my hands at times).. The screwdrivers (except for a few Vaco I had which were Klein) hold up assuming they are all CV alloy..

What bothered me about Snap-On and Matco (Mac was bigger the mid-west I guess but not huge here), is that although the trucks DID come to you, and acknowledge the life-time warantee, that's not what kept them in business.  In fact when I bought an extensive set of screw-drivers when I was doing more mechanical stuff, it pissed them off that they couldn't sell me additional tools, and had to just keep replacing broken and damaged tools..  It's counterproductive for the worker.. Sears is advantageous in that respect, but the franchise truck owners don't make money replacing broken parts,  they hope to keep selling you additional tools, and I had all I needed so they got an attitude just repairing and replacing. There was NOTHING advantageous about mailing tools back and forth to Wisconson after awhile.

Seemed that this past weekend brought with it a slight drop in computer prices. That aside, didn't find much of interest. Internet is still preferable to real life.  In real life this past weekend all I got was some poison Ivy
