They sound ok, not as good as a decent wood enclosure sub though.

Just out of curiousity do you think the plastic cannot put the vibrations in the floor like wood can?

Personal opinion, no.  Part of a good subs sound is the dampening factor of the wood it's built in.  I think the EON tops are good but would run at minimum the JBL JRX118 under them & crossed over with proper wattage going to the sub (unless you get the powered model).

I run the JBL EON G2's with the JBL JRX 118 and it sounds great and puts out some descent power.
