August 14th,  I go to post office desk asking if birthday card needs additional postage.  Clerk says, yeah, here's the card.   I go "No, just mail it out, why are you giving it back to me ?".  Turns out card has my return address, and stamp but no address on it :(

Today,  I get returned envelope from Fleet bank with cancelled stamp (Mailed out CC bill a few days ago).  Turns out I used wrong envelope and was mailing my credit card bill to the dollar amount of the payment (which is what appeared in the envelope window)  :(

Somebody tell me that twice within a week isn't warning signs of dementia, It's OK if you lie,  just tell me it's not. It's tough to believe that a few of us (Kappy), can get struck with mental illness

I don't actually remember that happening, but I supposedly hit with a muzzle velocity force of 800 fps.  The docs from what I've heard, (can't vouch firsthand because I was young at the time were measuring with chronographs) but I think the real damage was done because of the blunt chisel they used to scrape me off the wall.  Usually during the birth process there's a specific chisel used,  and my parents (being frugal) requested the med-team use the dollarama cheapo type

I'm usually SO careful about this stuff not happening though.  This is what's scaring me. It's not the type of thing I've ever screwed up on before.  So in contrast this is my concern I suppose.  I've heard a lot of talk about "as we get older the memory starts to go",  but if this is indicative of what's happening,  I better start posting notes on the fridge "Shoes don't go in here".  With CC bills, I ALWAYS pay them off on time (and usually wait til about the due date too) to avoid the ridiculously high finance charges and associated fees so in terms of making this mistake on a CC bill, it's just atypical.  It was also important to me to get my mom's b-day card out in time too..So this stuff was quite absent-minded, I'm quite sure I've  never made such mistakes before, and now twice within a week.

My dad has notes all over the place. He has backed out of the garage right smack into the garage door twice. Now a big sign is taped next to the drivers seat that says "OPEN GARAGE". The brain naturally starts to lose its sharpness. I don't think that constitutes mental illness though. It's a natural process. I think there are things you can do to stimulate your memory. I've heard reading mystery novels can help.

Serious. Also, crossword puzzles.

I am far worse than ever with my memory these days. But I attribute that to other things.

Like being blonde.

Do they involve not typing in chatrooms though ?  Some changes at this stage in life are really difficult to make  LOL

Seriously though.  I have right here (I think) this series by Robert L. Montgomery entitled "Memory made Easy". Of course it's dated 1984 so I'm not sure it's a viable school of thought today.. Dunno.  Never put the tapes in and listened to them.  Maybe It's time

(Shoving cassette tapes into computer D drive)

There you go! Now you're getting the picture! Blame it on the hair.

I like the thought of you as a blonde.  :dancin:

To quote another famous blonde.. "That's HOTT!"  :drunk:

True,  Especially the way it complements the black moustache and sideburns.  This was meant to be !  Finally I did something right !

That look is so two decades ago. They now have haircolor just for facial hair. It works for me.

I was trying to figure out what looked out've place in that photo, and it finally dawned on me.  The dark trim on that white T shirt is somewhat masculine looking given the style of your long blonde silky hair !  I'm so proud of my new hair color ! It's changing my life as we speak ! :bouncer:

Stephen, being a beef lover I'm always concerned about Mad Cow. You don't have to worry about being blond or Alzheimer's if you've got the Mad Cow - it's the same difference. Down here in Austin there's always The County Line BBQ. They have the Big Daddy plate, and you can get some beef ribs that are about 1 foot wide and 2 feet long. Lots of meat, and they say ribs and rib meat is the best way to get it. I've heard there is a cover up going on (yep another conspiracy), and Mad Cow disease is actually prevalent but no one wants to admit it.

For memory try Ginko Biloba. It's an herb that's great for the mind. It also seems to provide tons of greater endurance and oxygen utilization. I used it while climbing in the mountains to acclimate. All the years I used to go to high altitude and climb I would always have a headache. This time taking Ginko I never did. The day I didn't take it I started getting a headache though.

So I called my mom, and asked her this same question.  She's a Gerontologist.  The good news is she said "Not to worry".  The not so good news is some guy kept asking me at the end of the phone call "OK, who is this now,  Seriously?"  :(
