What do you like to drink when you're singing, out or at home? I like MGD with a bottle of water on the side. I take a sip of water right before I sing, because if I take a gulp of the beer right before.....I will surely have to burp sometime during my rendition...... :)

Let's see.....
If I'm singing "One BudWiser"... I have to have one of those in my hand, naturally;)
If I'm singing "All Jacked Up"... I usually am holding a Vodka/Cranberry or a shot of whiskey
If I'm singing "Margaritaville"... Well, figure that one out
If I'm singing "La Bamba"... I'll have a double shot of Tequila
Haha, I don't really sing those last two songs. :drunk: I was just being funny;)
I usually start the night off with a couple buttery nipples. (yes, two of them, anything with that name has to come in doubles) That's something quick and easy to boost my bravery and get my MoJo going.
And I'll sip on Budweiser all night. (it keeps me in line... I hate beer, so I wont chugalug when that's what I'm having) Plus, I look really cool with a longneck bottle in my hand.
If I'm in the mood to party and have fun, it's usually Vodka n' Cranberry... or Tequila Sunrises lately. My sis got me hooked on those, but they go down way too easy, so I gotta pace myself.
And if it's a really smoky night in the bar, or it's a night I'm in the mood to behave, I have ice water with lemon.
Oh... and as for "at home"... I don't drink at home- ever.

This doesn't necessarily pertain to Karaoke but when I perform on stage I always have a Miller Lite and a pitcher of ice water with me and if my voice is feeling kind of beat up I'll have a shot of Peppermint Schnapps also. It's the routine I've been doing for many years now, odd thing is, seems like I need the Schnapps more often than I used to.

Well, I always have a big glass of water - no ice. If the cash flow is less than great, I stick to diet Coke. If the cash flow is better, it's usually an Apple Martini, Smirnoff Ice, or if I'm lucky and the bar has it, a hard cider. I'm all about the girly drinks...but never more than 2 or 3...doesn't take much for me to hit my limit. *laugh*

dont normally drink alcohol when I am performing but if my voice gets scratchy some time during a show I will take a glass of straight rum and add a couple of shots of stones ginger wine and gargle and swallow...it gives me a whole new lease on life

At home, it is normally sweet coffee with Jack Daniel. Out in the pub is in normally coca cola, or Tiger.

bud lite, with Jaeger shots occasionally.
I also like bourbon and diet coke mixed drinks... but I'm not happy with the bourbon they sell here, the cheaper bar bourbon. The one I fell in love with was sold on the West coast. They don't sell it here in the midwest!

Well it can vary. I love girly drinks (coolers) but I don't love the price so it's usually beer with an interjection of tequila here and there. The first time I drank tequila I got carried away and had 3 shots close together... ol as I was singing Fever, my face started going numb. This was after having a few beer too.. so I'm not a total cheap date. I find that if I want to get a good buzz on, tequila does the trick. It does cause me to do stupid things though, like wander around the park at 3 in the morning with friends (and ruin my flip flops, so barefoot even) ....uhm... tequila makes her .. shoes come off? LMAO

I learned early on that kissing girls while drinking wine, or champagne always softened the lips and palate. So, based on that I sometimes try white wine along with a separate glass of water and sip them. It seems to soothe the throat while singing.
At karaoke though, it's not the only thing I drink. Typically I have a few beers all evening though I tend to go for darker brews after learning to love micro brew beer. I also sometimes do 7 and 7's and they seem ok for the throat and voice as well.
At home....well you know about my Mexican Martinis. Each mixer of those has about 4 oz of liquor - 2.5 Tequila, and 1.5 Cointreau. Those can be great while singing home karaoke, but you have to watch it. If you drink too much of these drinks or any others it will be tough to sing well. LMAO When you get to the point that you have trouble keeping up with the lines (particularly of songs you already know) then you know you've had too much. Not necessarily recommended for recording sessions unless you are singing Margaritaville and in that case all the more Mexican Martinis and Tequila shots along with background singing Cabelleros the better.

Quote: and i do like my tequila shots
I don't understand how people can do shots of that poisonous tasting stuff :puke:
Tequila is friggin strong, and I've done shots of chartreuse, 151, and some really nasty stuff, but something about the taste of tequila I find just horribly bitter. I wonder if it's a genetic thing.. Like that strip of paper in Jr high biology lab you lick, and some find it terribly bitter, while others can't taste anything. I only drank manly drinks.

Stephen, not sure if you did these properly. For a proper Tequila shot you need lime and salt. You put a little bit of salt on part of you hand as I recall - near the base of the thumb. You lick the salt, take your shot of Tequila and then bite on the lime slice. Makes a big difference. A good way to get women crazy too - from experience. LMAO

Too bad my mom didn't do this same thing before trying to get me to like eating "liver". You could put caramel covering, and molassis and sprinkles on "snot", but it's still snot !

I like to drink vodka and 7up or A rum and coke... Sometimes I will drink a few white Russians, but I have to be careful... They make me a little too happy and pflegmmy....
As far as shots.. I like either hot damn or apple pucker or mix them together for a hot apple pie.
