I'm in Vegas, and the lady at the karaoke store says CAVs now ships without songs because they had their hand slapped..

Anyone hear about that?

JD Cavs has been sued by Famous Music and they have gotten an injunction against cavs to sell any music that they have any copyrights to. Famous has also named panorama in the lawsuit, but it doesn't say for what.

about F*n time!

I have NO problems with CAVS as a player, but I DO with it being shipped with music..

The problem is, it's NOT the CAVS folks that are doing this, it's retailers that are making the package "sellable" by having a built in library!

Cavs is staying tight lipped about what is going on with their music (download site and music on players). They still sell machines with SCDG discs though. I never liked the fact they put music on hard drives either. When I bought my first one I took their music off and put all my own on.

If you read their forum people are really mad about buying down load memberships and not being able to download music any more. Cavs is saying be patient they are revamping their website and it will be a few months until they are up again. Well it's been a few months and nothing has happened. I personally believe they aren't going to sell downloads again. I heard Panarama backed out on them. The lawsuit thing doesn't sway my opinion because they all get sued. It is if it hurts their pocket books enough to make them stop selling.

They will continue to sell players that is their bread and butter.
