I have critiques floating around somewhere.

Don't worry,  you're a professional vocalist,  your critique wouldn't be that general, it'd be more analytical for certain, for you I'd get into some detail !

Here's a very general critique I gave awhile back that was non-specific.  This is as general as I'd dare to get but in this particular case it was as helpful as I believed I could get in THIS particular song.

Welcome back to the site. A disadvantage of having Karaoke as a backup band, is that unlike live accompaniment the backing doesn't accommodate *your* style and phrasing in Karaoke. Since this type backing can't take cues from you. If you wish to polish this up abit you'll need to pay closer attention to your blend, adjust your dynamics in accordance with the Karaoke arrangement, and tighten your tempo. Nice job for having not been at it for a few years... Most importantly pay closer attention to balance and tempo.

NO fluff,  NO BS... 100% honest.

A style that's good to know is known as the "up-down-up" approach to critiquing which means you don't just "dig in" and rip things to shreds..  So I say "Welcome back" first LOL

I tested 167 in the elementary school IQ's

I used to sit next to kids like you in school and cheat. I was too lazy and disturbed a child to have an IQ of my own. Adult scores are usually roughly 10-15 points lower when retested, but it depends on the test given.  An adult that tests 167 would be in the top 0.001% (99.999th percentile) of the population.  I don't have one IQ,  I have several LOL   A range.  Cletus brings my score WAY down !

yeah...it was in the 99.99% Turned out to be a CURSE too! Once Mom and Dad found out they had a "gifted" child on their hands all of a sudden "B's and C'c were no longer cuttin it" Which was VERY unfortunate cuz I was one lazy kid.
not much has changed..which would explain the career choice  :laughatthat:

I guess it's a good thing I was smart cuz all that I learned I got from class--it sure wasn't from studying(OMG) hope none of the teachers like Clay read this(shamefully blushing) I always got comments like "Paula doesn't live up to her potential" "Paula is a distraction in class" "Paula is freaking ADD and needs some medication!"Ok = yeah that last one was a fib...but I truly WAS in desperate need of Rittalin! :banghead:

Those of us with hyperactivity, certain illnesses, serious emotional/mental/physical probs really fell thru 'cracks in the floorboards' literally taking a (proverbial) beating growing up during a time period where the remedy often was "the kid needs discipline", or "he's stubborn", or "he's a daydreamer", much of the time,  "ignore him, kids will try to get attention anyway they discover that works".

A few of us had illnesses (mental and physical) and not yet discovered LD's that weren't our fault. Problem is a few of we "slow" hyperkinetic kids with other probs causing this stuff weren't recognised, and paradoxical affects of meds STILL aren't understood;  I wasn't medicated for hyperactivity, nor was it discovered until I was around your current age (about 41), and it was diagnosed from eye-movement that I'd had since infancy (according to my parents). A lot of damage took place (as the result of what turned out to be VERY wrong methods of dealing with unknown issues during our childhood). I've got a page long list of stuff that should never have slipped past the medical prof even in the old days, yet that's another thread. Corporal punishment for 75% deafness from abscess and fluid buildup during infancy which wasn't discovered before 6 years of age.  (This actually ironically likely helped me to develop a knack musically since I wasn't hearing much of spoken language, although I banged hard on the piano when I was taking lessons LOL ).    Seems in the 50's the medical profession just didn't have a clue.

I know where you're coming from Steve,..Myself and one other child were the first documented and diagnosed kids in the state of SC who were treated for ADD,,,later they changed my diagnosis to hyper active attention deficit disorder...which to this DAY pisses me off. :madgo:  I don't consider it a "disorder" that I happened to "get it" the first time so therefore got BORED waiting for the other children to catch up. That problem was compounded by the fact that My Mom, grandmom and aunt are all teachers so I was getting homeschooling on top of regular classes. :read: ..I was reading "gone with the wind" while the rest of my grade was working on "see spot run" It sucked cuz I thught I would seriously LOSE my kind if I had to sit chained to a desk while I was that bored.  :banghead: No wonder I was a "disciplinary problem" :banger:  :dontknow: I'd rather say it it was the educational system's fault for not challenging me...not a disorder on my part. I function normally and get a lot done during the day too...I hate those commercials that make it looks like "ADHD" is some kind of skitzo behavior!  :order: jerks!
