Today is the anniversary of Elvis's death. (moment of silence)

I had a guy come in last night dressed all in black, about 50 yrs old, with side burns and big floppy Elvis hair. He sat at the bar pretty much to himself. People giggled and pointed behind his back. He didn't bother anybody and was respectful of the singers. He clapped along with the crowd and seemed to enjoy listening.

The night was almost over and he came up to the stage and laid a disc on the table not saying word, smiled and walked away. Everyone waited with anticipation of this strange looking character singing. Some people wouldn't leave until they heard him sing.

He wrote his name as Rick. The disc had no writing on it so I had no idea what he was singing. The disc started and it had no graphics. The music started and away he went. The music arrangement was obviously professionally recorded for him. He belted out Elvis like it was the real thing. The crowd went nuts !

It turns out the guy has been a famous Elvis impersonater for 35 yrs. A down to earth nice person too. It is just odd he'd stroll into our bar on the eve of Elvis's death.

Holy xit !   That's right,  today is 30 years since his death.  There will be a lot of Elvis on the radio today.  When you think about how young 42 is it's quite sad.

Ah, I wish that would happen at my place. I'd be all over the guy, begging him to sing some more;) Lucky you Babs.

And hey Steven, nice legs.  :D  But didn't I tell ya that playing guitar half nekkid is bad on the wood finish?

(sorry, had to say something silly, at first glance, I thought you had no britches on... and yes, naturally, I had to zoom in and take a closer look after that)

There was a guy from around me named Rick Saucedo.....my buddy owned a huge club(used to be a bowling alley)....and this guy would perform there a couple of times a year. He was the best I've ever seen. He took his act to Vegas several years ago, and I heard he did pretty good. He was a real nice dude too.......I personally would hate to do the same artist all the time......maybe if I made good money doing it........ LMAO .....guess I'd have to be real good at it.... .....there goes another dream....... :(

Yeah,  but I just LOVE the sensation of the polyeurothane finish on the 1982 G&L bass tacking itself onto the hairs of my thighs and pulling :yum:

Plus that photo was taken way back when I was young (around this time 2006),  Since than I've become short, obese, have skintags hanging from the bags under my eyes, and my legs are about 5 times as big with vericose veins, and glow like flourescent lightbulbs.   Besides that little has changed (well besides the fact I have no hair wear glasses, and have to keep a helmet on all the time so I don't get hurt

This guys name was Rick Adams. Boy what an odd coincidence it would be if it was Rick Saucedo. I hope he comes back again when your there, so you can see him. We sure do get all kinds in the bar.
