Hello all,
I am very confuse with what cable should I get. Here is what I have.
Behringer 1222FX mixer --> AMP --> Yamaha BR12
The AMP has CH1 and CH2 for both Input and Output. For Input, it can take 1/4 or XLR and output is Banana. (I think)
So, I need XLR(F) to XLR(M) from the mixer to AMP, and Banana(M) to Speakon from AMP to speakers. Is that correct? Is the XLR to XLR cable likes the one use for Mic? Any low budget good cable recommendation. Thanks.
Well if the mixer & amp has XLR outputs & inputs, then yes use XLR cables (mic cords work fine, just use the shortest run that you need) for that run. What amp are you running? It should at least have banana & 1/4" maybe even Speakon if it's a newer type. The speakers only accept 1/4". You could go the banana to 1/4" - this would be the cheapest route or you could run 1/4" - 1/4 inch if the amp has 1/4" outputs. If it has Speakon outputs, i'd go Speakon to 1/4" cables.
Get at LEAST a 14 guage or lower (in number) speaker cable. Anything over 25 feet, get a 12-10 guage speaker cable for maximum efficiency.
