I just got done fitting my desktop into a suitcase but I want to lay the monitor on top of the computer in the suitcase. Do you think I will have hard drive issues from the speakers that are in the monitor? Because I know that magnets and hard drives don't mix but is there a certain strength that the magnet must be in order to mess up your hard drive? I have about one inch of clearance between the computer and the monitor speakers plus the hard drive is located on the far side of the case.
Thanks

No it wont bother it You have too many metal shields plus a magnet that size has a very small flux field. 1/4 - 1/2 " at most.

Sounds like you need to buy a notebook.
You can find a reasonable New Karaoke Capable Notebook for less than $500.
If you run something simple like Sax and Dotties you can find one on Ebay for less than $200.

The laptop I am using now is being sold on walmart.com for $448.
Acer laptop
Intel Celeron M (1.8 GHZ)
512 mb RAM
80 GIG Hard drive (Divided in two equal partitions)
wifi capable
bluetooth capable
Software
Windows Vista Basic
Just Karaoke 1.0
winamp (for filler music)
I haven't had a karaoke gig with it yet but recently dj'ed a weddding reception with it and it went well. One thing though suggest you get a usb soundcard. Ihadn't set up mine yet and got a little bit of buzz that was noticable to me but not to others when not playing music.
