What kind of accessories do you use at your shows? I have three lights that provide some visual effects; I'm curious what others use to enhance that stage area and or venue.

I use various Lights, A Laser and a Smoke machine. However, I decide what exactly i'm going to use for each gig depending on venue and fee.

Johnny Echo in drag LMAO
I don't use any special lighting or effects. I think it's great under the right enviroment, but I don't need them where I work. Fortunately some maracas and a tambourine is all that's needed. LMAO

8 par cans on stage (4 in front, 4 behind), over dance floor the bar has a disco ball, 2 'intelligent' lights that blink/rotate, a lunar effect & a fire & water effect.

I have a couple of revolving disco lights, but for the people to have fun, I have a bag full of wigs, hats and even an Elvis outfit. Sometimes when there are no singers, I'll but video clips of concerts.

Quote: a fire & water effect.
How is that simulated in that setting ? Is it rack lighting fx using an animation wheel projected onto a light surface, or is this a free standing device with lighting inside dual rotating units ? I'd think that can be tricky to mount in front of a pin-spot. or can lighting. Of course if you have it in a quiet undisturbed location projecting upwards that can be cool... I don't recall affordable fx in my day that provided that type atmosphere, nor have I seen that around here. Mirror balls, pin-spots, laser-lighting is still all around.. ![LOL LOL](./images/smilies/emot-LOL.gif) , hasn't changed much since the Disco DJ period.

They have a pretty big dance floor with a big white wall to project it on. It is 2 individual effects - one rotates a water background on one side of the wall the other rotates a fire effect on the other half of the wall.

That's a great environment to be working in. A big white backing wall gives endless options for projection shows and fx.

Sounds like your dad also never told you that the discussion about big being better doesn't refer to the skintag under your right eye.

I use 2 Chauvet led's 196 Colorsplash's. I use them up high to hi-light the singer. Also use blow up instruments; sax, guitar, piano, etc. My brother showed up at one of my shows for his bachelor party. They brought in a blow up sheep.
He let me keep it and I occasionally keep it blown up but out of sight. And use it once in a while. Once several of my regulars were in the process of assisting a singer. Both guitars were being used; the sax and the keyboard. Another one of my regulars came up and said "there ain't nothing else I can play." Yep, I did.
"Here, I been told this is more your style." LOL Most tears I ever saw from a happy crowd.
