There is a better frontend called AutoKDJ that uses the winamp media library as it's control center.  check out www.autokdj.com to see what it is all about.  The best part of this plugin is that if you're not happy with it you are not out any money as the plugin is free and includes the mp3+G plugin, PAcemaker 2.1 and the AutoKDJ plugin. The only item you need to run it is a copy of winamp.

I have been beta testing the AutoKDJ with Meep70. It seems to be working very well. Up until this past weekend we have been using it at home with 5 or 6 singers at most. However, this past weekend we had approx 40 singers using it and it did very well. I was most impressed with it's performance. And with the adaptability of the the singers ease of using it.

I too like winamp.....

I like the Siglos player, from powerkaraoke.

http://www.powerkaraoke.com/src/prod_si ... corder.php

It has background rotating pictures, and you can add your own. What I do, is I have a bunch of directories, with 50 pictures in each, and each directory has the same names for different pictures. I just move one set of pics out of the Siglos directory, and another set in. that way I don't just repeat the same pictures all night. I do it during break.

This is a great player for home, or a small gathering, church, party, etc.

For a regular gig, it ain't up to snuff. But then again, it's not made for that. But, if I person could handle the multi-tasking, it would be doable.

Thanks for the plug Morgan.  The software she's talking about isn't hosting software but if and when I ever get around to finishing it there will be new hosting software called KJX which I hope you will check out.  You can find a screen shot of the new and incomplete KJHoster at www.freewebs.com/sacksonuts

exweedfarmer,

KJX sounds like a winner. According to Morgan, It Works.
The web site states, "No More Demos" and "No Refunds."
According to your post its, "New and Incomplete"

I hope you find some time to finish KJX.
Looking forward to checking it out.

My website is much like me, a little dazed and usually hung-over.  My old hoster "Sacks-O-Nuts" has been pulled form the market and you can no longer get demos of that.  That's what there are "no more demos" of.  Sacks-O-Nuts was a winamp front end as compared to KJX (the new one) which will be a stand alone with most of the SON features but with better organization, much cooler graphics, and quite a few things no one else has.

If you want to have my children I can send them to you but they're teenagers so you have to promise not to send them back.

Hi, since starting this thread I have (following advice given on this ite) changed to WinAmp with the AutoKDJ + LAME Mp3 plugin, I also use Audiograbber.  Thanks for the advice and support.

I have found several of the Karaoke softwares to be unstable but finally settled on ClubDJPro2. Stable and plays anything. Very resourse hungry though. You need a CPU of at least 2 Ghtz.
