So I'm still not getting it. Why is it annoying to bring you a slip with a song on it, but it's not annoying to turn in a replacement song? Or not annoying to change the song that's already in? Doesn't it all amount to the same thing, which is which song you're going to be singing next in the rotation?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but that seems beyond silly. Just because you like to turn in all your songs at the beginning of the night doesn't mean we all like to do that.
I guess you are locked up in the old ways ( I thought I was the old man here damn it
) You would just have come to one of our shows .. One thing you will not see is 50 slips neatly stacked to track rotation.. The computer does that and you only see new requests that havnt been entered yet. Over half of our requests is verbal karaoke or DJ ..Now does that blow your mind too?
The thing is we run a dynamic show we can handle the ones that turn in their nights requests or we can cater to the sing one bring one types. Maybe annoy was a little too strong but sometimes it does.. When everybody does that Im so busy entering songs and tacking everybody the sound suffers, it slows the whole show down, thats all I got time for is rotation. Bring me up at least 2 or 3 and lets sing
Ill try to put it a different way You come up to sing I dont want you taking the time to hand me a slip (im not on the stage Im FOH maybe in the opposite corner 50 feet from the stage) I want you picking up that mic and my job is adjusting the sound not worrying about your next slip and entering everybody in the computer every time they sing. You have one method in mind we have many but our shows are fast paced and very high energy we cannot be taking request slips from everybody for every song..
If you want to change on the fly then dont bother me with a slip just pick up the mic and say I want so&so in 2 seconds it is started. WE dont need a number just give me the song... You want us to sit here and baby you every rotation"??
It is a different format..It sometimes becomes very fast paced and high energy WE cant be sitting here worrying about flipping slips. The slips are in the trash can and we are rockin....
This format has evolved out of many gigs many venues many dives and many clubs parties weddings and many all nighters. It works!! If you cant imagine it the come to Greeley You are very welcome and we will give you a demo
But if you think you are going to get out of here without getting 4 hangovers and a strange desire to move to Colorado then you are mistaken!!!
I wish people on here would worrying about their petty rules and every show should be run...
