I'm using Karafun (saving my pennies for MTU Hoster  ), and I've noticed that the music becomes choppy for lack of a better description, after changing the key. It doesn't happen on every song, so I'm not sure how to find the source of the problem. I've searched for an answer here and the Karafun forum to no avail.

FYI...I'm using a laptop and external HD for music source.

Wife's family party is tomorrow, and it will be my first "in public" hosting attempt. Non paying of course, but I'd like for it to go well. I'm sure someone will request a keychange.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks, Jim.

How many steps up/down do you go? I will not go 2 steps up or down on any keychanger. I rather not sing those songs.

Usually 1 step either way....if it's gonna do it...it will do it at 1 step. Then, I have some songs it doesnt seem to affect.??

Probably just a bad algorithm. Have you tried anything else besides Karafun (which I know of no pros using)?

That won't make any difference -- CPU speed might.

I would suggest switching to Winamp/MP3+G and Pacemaker, which should work fine.

A better player and keychanger.

IF you have $100 to spend buy Hoster lite. All the features of hoster except for book making and outside disc playing.  Best Keychanger and multiplex support on the market.
